If you haven’t heard of Clarisonic, honestly I don’t know who hasn’t.ย Maybe you are a Gen z-er but I remember back in the late 2000’s when Clarisonic blew up.ย Even before I knew how to put makeup on myself properly or clean my face properly, I knew about Clarisonic thanks to the early OG influencers on Youtube.ย At the time, I was suffering from these weird bumps on my skin which weren’t pimples.ย They were actually dead skin that hadn’t been exfoliated off and they were just growing into these gross bumps all over my skin.ย Yes, people, I didn’t know how to skincare when I was a teen because no one ever really taught me.ย Sometimes I’m just jealous of the generation now with so much access to not have that awkward stage in your younger years.
Saving up all my allowance money, I set off to get myself a Clarisonic device.ย How on earth did a high schooler with no job afford one?ย Ebay is your answer.ย In comes, the Clarisonic pro (or whatever it is called), and I loved it to pieces but fell off of using it for a long time mostly because it was such a hassle.ย On top of that, the brush heads were so expensive to replace and I really didn’t feel the need to buy new ones if I just kept the one I had clean.
Anyways, back to the present time.ย Clarisonic is officially shutting down on September 30, 2020.ย If you are worried about your warranty, the warranty will be honored as long as the device is bought before September 30, 200, and will be valid up to Oct. 31, 2022.ย If you have questions such as getting a charger replacement, registering your device, where to buy brush heads after the brand is gone and such, click here to find your answer!
So why do I think Clarisonic has officially tanked?ย When they first launched the brand, they were a trailblazer and one of the few, if not the only, skincare tool brand at the time to offer to consumers a professional device that you can use at home.ย From the Google trend search, you can clearly see people searching for Clarisonic peaking from 2011 to 2015 but gradually the search rates kept going down and down.ย On top of that with the whole skincare boom in the last 5 years, more and more brands were coming out with skincare devices and Clarisonic just wasn’t relevant anymore.ย There were tons of knock off cleansing brushes from the drugstore to the most famous Foreo which offered a silicone cleansing brush without the obligation to have to buy new brush heads.ย Although it is sad to see an iconic brand go, I can also see why they are now out of business.
Okay so to the juicy part, how can you get $53 CDN ($39 USD) or whatever currency is for your country, towards a Luna 3, Luna 3 men, Luna mini 3 or Luna mini 2?ย All you have to do is fill out this form right here*, take a picture of your Clarisonic device to upload and you will get unique discount code of $53 CDN which you can use up to two times!
$53 is quite a generous offer and you never have to buy a new brush head!ย I personally haven’t tried Foreo but I do have some devices coming my way so stay tuned for that! Through my research, I actually found out the different colors for specific Luna devices are actually separated into what skin type you have.ย So the Luna 3, pink is normal skin type, blue is combo and lavender sensitive skin.ย The bristles on the normal and sensitive are quite similar from the looks of it but the pink one (normal) tip has a little bit bigger bristles while the lavender (sensitive skin) has finer bristles all over.
This sounds like an infomercial now, so I’m going to sign out.ย Hope this was helpful for those of you mourning the death of Clarisonic but hey, there’s always a brighter side to things!ย Cheers~
