I recently was introduced to the brand Aippo and was shocked to find out the brand has been around since 2010!ย Maybe because it is one of those spa clinics that started producing their own skincare and cosmetics but this is not a brand that I have seen anywhere on the internet.ย They do have a spa in Sinchon near Ewha women’s university and I really can’t wait to go when I go back to Korea maybe sometime next year.ย Anyways, I got gifted their soothing cica cream as well as their hydrating ampoule and I actually like them to my surprise!ย Slightly pricey for the size but I am quite impressed with them both.ย Let’s get into it!

From the looks of it, they really don’t use any ingredients that are harmful in their products (saying this from looking at an app that tells me on a scale, how harmful each ingredient is).ย Not bad Aippo, not bad ;).
How to use:
Apply an even application of cica cream all over the face and neck.ย For best results, use this every morning and night.
Product packaging:
Aippo’s cica cream comes in a very skinny tube and honestly, I was kind of shocked that it was in such a small tube.ย I mean for those who are used to Western skincare, this would be the standard size. But for K-beauty lovers who are used to the giant tubes and jars, this seems like kind of a step back.
Another thing I really don’t like about the packaging is the annoying tiny tip.ย The tip is so tiny that I feel like I’m about to getย tendinitis from squeezing it out day and night.ย I think I might end up just popping out the tip.
Texture:
Texture of this cream isn’t as lightweight as a gel but not as thick as a cream.ย It stands right in the middle and again, I thought this cream might not be hydrating enough which is true if I use this alone.ย When I was trying this cream out for a month and a half, I used it alongside their hydrating ampoule and it seemed to do a good job at hydrating my skin without any greasy or dewy look.ย It absorbs into the skin relatively quickly but leaves my skin soft and supple.ย This cream is definitely a spring/summer cream for my very dry skin.

Overall thoughts:
Factoring in the price and amount of product you get, I’d have to give this cream an average scoring.ย Maybe because my skin is quite resilient, I didn’t see crazy differences other then my skin condition being maintained at a good regular state and it did seem to sooth my skin a bit.ย Overall this is a decent cream but not one I’d repurchase.

How to use:
After cleansing the face, apply the ampoule morning and night and then continue on with the rest of your skincare routine.
Product packaging:
I love the packaging for their ampoules.ย They all come in a glass bottle and only the hydrating formula comes in the frosted glass bottle, not that it makes any difference but I just like the look of frosted glass hehe.ย I actually find the plastic for the dropper a little too thick, making it kind of hard to squeeze at times but it still works.
I also find the dropper to be a little short which in turn, makes me have to go back for more product.ย Usually with a full size dropper, one squirt does the trick.
Texture:
Don’t let the light texture fool you, this is actually moisturizing even for my dry skin!ย Heck, I can confidently say this would work for all skin types since it isn’t greasyย at all and absorbs into the skin quickly.ย I always get disappointed with serums since most of the time, ampoules don’t do much for my dry skin but this one hydrates well enough that I don’t feel like my skin is stretching or wrinkling up.ย On top of that, the lightweight but hydration properties makes this a great hydrating primer for foundation!ย

Fragrance?:
This is going to sound really stupid but this really does smell like fresh glacier waters.ย Like if you have ever went outside when it is snowing, it kind of smells like that…. kind of like crisp, clean and cold water.ย From the ingredients (and my heavy sleepy eyeballs that is closing as I type this), I don’t see fragrance in the list so I think the scent is from the ingredients itself.ย Smell-o-scale: 3/10 in terms of how strong the scent is and fragrance fades after application.

Overall thoughts:
I feel like I repeated myself a lot in this section of the review but not really much to say other then it is lightweight and hydrating enough to give it a passing grade.ย I’d definitely say this will work for every skin type and is a great layering piece in your skincare routine.ย Two thumbs up and I’d love to be able to try more from this brand because I can definitely see potential.
