Missha glow tension cushion Review + Demo

BB cushions have been a part of my life for more then 5 years now and I just can’t stop!  Although I have slowed down on the cushion foundation hoarding, Missha is one of those brands that make solid BB cushions that I just have to have once new ones come out.  Missha M magic cushion is one of my all time favourites and then there was their tension cushion which also found a place in my heart.  Glow tension cushion now?  YES PLEASE!  I picked this up from Aletha as a part of my birthday credit, just an FYI ;).  There also isn’t that many places online that is carrying it but I’ll see if I could convince some stores to get em because this cushion is truly holy grail status.  Get excited, get ready because if you like Etude House double lasting foundation, you’ll freakin’ LOVE this baby.  Let’s go~

How to use:
Simply take the air puff provided in the compact, pat it into the cushion and pat onto your skin until you got your desired coverage.

Packaging:
Compared to Missha’s older cushions, this compact is slightly slimmer.  It has the same push release compact and gorgeous rose gold top with a holographic letter that will not rub off.  The lid does attract fingerprints, so you have been warned!

The bottom isn’t just straight down kind of edge, it is round tapered for those who want more details ;P.  So not necessary to state but I’m an anal freak when it comes to knowing what I’m buying before getting something online.

Everything else is quite standard.  You get a nice sized mirror and the standard sponge but I think this sponge is the brown ones, the ones that are slightly more dense and soaks up less product.  I just wish it wasn’t light beige because even if you clean it really nicely, it still looks stained and dirty.

The coolest feature that I didn’t even realize until getting was the sponge itself.  Ew the holes tho, makes me and my trypophobia cringe.  Like is it just me or those tiny holes creep you out UGHHHH!

I’m going to sound so old but I remember those days in the first BB cushions that came out in the market, it was just a regular foam sponge soaked with the BB cushion formula. Along came tension cushions which essentially was the product housed inside the compact with a plastic mesh cover.  This was good since product would dry out less and you get a more even application on your sponge rather then random blobs.  Now there is this new beast that I’m really enjoying since you get an EVEN easier time getting the product onto your airpuff.  

Think the mochi sponge, kind of like a dorayaki, where the product is placed in between two sponges and when you press onto it, product is then released.  This new sponge is essentially that but with a mess that pushes the sponge down in a way but the product is soaked through and through.  With this one, you just have to lightly tap and viola!  I love this new design~

Color/ Pigmentation:
I got the shade #23 beige which is a perfect match for my Mac NC25 yellow undertone skin.  I always get the darkest shade in the range since I find 21 to be always too pale or ghostly on my complexion.  This cushion is SUPER pigmented and high high coverage, so a little really goes a long way.  They said in the description that this foundation can last up to 30 hours and honestly, I really think it can… not that anyone would be awake for 30 hours quite frankly.  If you do, how do you function and can you tell me your secrets (no drugs involved please LOL).

Texture/ Finish:
I’m going to review the foundation as well in the next review but I actually find the cushion to have a higher coverage and a better glow/ hydrating effect.  I kind of wish I also got the glow balm in the same line but I thought, it looks like just another moisturizer.  Now I kind of regret not getting it!  Usually with my dry skin, even a dewy finish goes down to a satin finish in about 3 hours.  The finish of this cushion isn’t as glowy as the saem aqua glow cushion but even with the super high coverage, this is still really comfortable on the skin and provides a good amount of moisture.  Best of both worlds!!  This is pretty much what I wished the Etude House double lasting serum foundation to be but it just didn’t deliver.

Also sorry if my face looks somewhat darker then usual.  One of my soft boxes blew and I’m not comfortable enough to blow the house up again.  LOL  long story short, one time I plugged in the light and didn’t realize the light bulb holder in the socket came out and it short circuited all the energy in the upstairs of my house.  Not fun…  A new one is on its way :).Here is my bare face.  My face is more red the usual because
1) season is changing and my face always reacts super crazy
2) I waxed my moustache LOL
3) Constant redness on my cheeks never seems to go away!

What I usually look for in a base make up product:
-long lasting hydration for my dry skin
-doesn’t cling onto my dry patches
-no grey undertone
-light to medium coverage for everyday wear but higher coverage always welcomed

Coverage:
With one application, it is FLAWLESS.  It took a little bit of time to blend it into the skin since it is so high coverage and almost has that puddy texture.  If your familiar with the Etude House double lasting foundation, you’ll know what texture I’m talking about.  A little truly goes a long way so be careful!  I applied it on my undereyes as well just to show you how well it conceals but I really wouldn’t apply it for the undereyes since it does crease like a mofo.
I’m still at aw how good this looks.  I usually don’t like high coverage products since it always looks super heavy but this actually almost looks like my skin.  Its SO GOOD.  Heck I would even compare this to Sulwhasoo perfecting cushion, at a fraction of the price of course.

Lasting power:
This foundation truly lasts all day for me, and by that I mean about 8-12 hour wear no problem.  The glow does go down to more of a satin but my skin doesn’t feel like it is cracking or anything.  I also usually don’t set my base make up with any powers so that number is solely based on the products natural lasting power.

Fragrance?:
There really isn’t much scent to this other then a superrrrrrr light citrus fragrance which I presume is from the citrus oil.  Smell-o-scale: 2/10 in terms of how strong the scent is and fragrance does disappear after application.

Overall thoughts:
It has been a LONG time since I’ve come across anything that has blown my socks off, take those socks and run them over with a car, then burn them and then travel back in time and do that cycle all over again kinda good shit.  Holy grails don’t come easy on my blog and this one definitely won my heart.  Super high coverage with a great hydrating element is something I could never dream of coming across and 6 years later, it has happened!  I don’t think I have any more words to say since it just sounds repetitive at this point but bottom line, GET THIS.  Maybe not get this if you have oily skin type but dry and combo so.. GET. THIS. NOW! Enough said <3.
