Current skincare products on trial (Volume 1)

IMG_8875So I’m going to start this new series called “current skincare products on trial” since I’m always trying out new products but sometimes don’t end up doing reviews on the products since I either completely forget about it, use it all up or just think it is a waste of time to do a review on it because it was neither good or bad.  Hopefully this series will help you guys out a little and please comment down below if you want to see a full review on a product.  Let’s gets get started ヽ( ・∀・)ノ.

IMG_8878I’ve been trying to get myself to like Skinfood honey black tea foam, but I just can’t get myself to like it.  For the past two months, I’ve been using it everyday and see no results for my face.  In fact, my skin overtime seem to have gotten worst texture wise.  So I go into my stash of past Memebox collection and picked this cleanser out by the brand “Awesome”.  I don’t know who on earth picked that name but thats the brand name.  I think that is the second worst company name next to “no brand” brand from Superstore HAHAHA.  Yes, that really is a brand.  After I switched to this cleanser, my skin went back to its normal texture.  YEY! ٩(◦`꒳´◦)۶

IMG_8879They claim to use “Canadian glacial waters” to create this cleanser which brings the skeptic in me to be like “Really… Really.  You’re telling me that you used the waters of my country, ship it all the way to Korea to make your cleanser?? Interesting…”.  So far this cleanser is good to me and no complains just yet expect for the fragrance, which smells strongly of a ginger fragrance.

IMG_8880I can honestly say I haven’t really had a real toner in my skincare routine for a long time because I have just been using the Bioderma to double up as an insurance to get rid of all my make up and as a toner.  The only other toner I have used was the Clinique one and at that time, it was the first time I ever got myself actual skincare products to properly clean my face.  At that time, I was just starting high school and Youtube wasn’t big back then unlike now.  The Clinique toners dried out my skin so bad, my skin would be so stretched by the time I was done with cleanser.  I didn’t know any better but now I do.  This toner from Secret nature has been pretty good for me, hasn’t dried out my skin at all and preps my skin to drink my moisturizer.  I learned from a sales lady at Sephora who was promoting Amore Pacifica products that if you were to just put on heavy creams right after cleanser without any prep work such as toner, essence, serums and such, your skin wouldn’t be able to absorb it well and kind of “throws up”.  I don’t know if she was pulling my leg or not but it does make sense.  So far I have no complaints about this product and have been happily using it daily.

IMG_8882Cosrx recently sent me three products to try and review for you guys and is still in a trial stage but I can already say I like all their products, and this is not me being bias because I was sent these.  All of their products are fragrance free, which recently has become one of the things I do look for in a product because why would companies add extra ingredients into something that I will be applying onto my face just to make it smell nice. It’s not like I will be smelling my face the whole day, so why the extra curricular. I’ve had past products that I have gotten from Memebox that yes, it smells nice and all, but the scent was so strong that it made me question if I really should be putting it on my face.  This essence is built with Hyaluronic acid which is suppose to “boost elasticity” and “recharge dehydrated skin”.  If you have dry skin like me, hyaluronic acid will be your best friend.  So far I really like this product and have noticed my skin has been very hydrated, and this product is not greasy, soaks into the skin quickly and has not irritated my face.

IMG_8883I ran out of eye cream two months ago and desperately needed an eye cream and couldn’t wait a month and a half if I were to pick one up online.  Solution?  I went to Sephora and just picked one honestly and prayed that it works.  I’ve been noticing my undereye has become extra wrinkly and it is not because I don’t moisturize or anything, I do extra steps like using this vibrating machine to push the cream into my skin a little bit more but nothing seems to be working.  This Clinique eye cream is quite thick and I even gotten my boyfriend to use it since he has the natural “aegyo sal” *jelly (∩︵∩)* but it easily looks like he is tired because it gets quite wrinkly up in there.  This hasn’t seem to be doing much for me but works for my boyfriend, so I might have to start looking for a new eye cream.  If you guys have a favorite, let me know down below whether it is a western brand I can get at Sephora or any other Asian brands, I will try it! \(゜э゜)/

IMG_8884When I ran out of my L’occitane shea butter moisturizer, I was so sad but I knew I had to move on because I wasn’t willing to pay $42 for the jar of cream since the Sephora sale was just around the corner.  To keep my skin moisturized, I just picked a moisturizer from my stash and prayed it would work.  This one from the brand Edmong (Korean) Honeybee water cream is suppose to contain honey.  Now we all know honey is very moisturizing to the skin and also is an antiseptic, so with that brainwashing in mind, I was hoping that this will work.  Most of the time, the moisturizers I have tried that are more on the gel type of cream never really does a good enough job for me.  This one is also one of those gel types and worked alright for my skin, but I feel as though this would work for someone with either normal or oily skin type.  My skin does not hold moisture very well at all, so I needed a product that really did give me tons of moisture like shea butter or a ceramide cream.  My feelings on this product is so so and wouldn’t be a repurchase.  I might even pass this onto a friend that I know would enjoy this a little more then me.IMG_8885

IMG_8886This Cosrx was out of the three products that have been sent to me.  I have had good luck with ceramide creams like the Holika Holika ceramide cream, so when they let me pick couple products to try out, I knew this one had to be one of them. This cream contains manuka honey (the best type of honey there is!!) for intense hydration and nutrition while “improving the skin elasticity and quenching the thirst of the skin” through ceramide.  When I first opened the jar to see the texture of this cream, I was skeptical for sure because it is one of those creams which I personally classify as a “gel” because it is so lightweight.  I’ve been using it twice a day for two weeks now and can say I really love this moisturizer and could even be a repurchase.  I noticed my skin has not been flaking, been plumper and no signs of tightest.  I will be doing a full review down the road of this product but I can say already that this is one of my top 3 moisturizers.  Highly highly recommend this for those who need hydration but in a lightweight formula.  I can see any skin types being able to use this, however I’m scared it might be a little too hydrating for those who have oily skin.  Don’t worry, they have other moisturizers as well that would suit your skin type as well.

This was one of those moisturizers during my Memebox high phase.  If you guys didn’t know, last year Memebox was all the craze for me.  They were a hot pink box which you would pay $25 to $35 for 4-6 full-size or deluxe-sized Korean skincare or makeup products which were depending on the theme of the box you were buying.  They were really worth the money because the products you got in the boxes were a lot of time 75% full-sized products and the deluxe-sized samples could just have been full-size because they were so big!  Sadly they had to make the executive decision and discontinue their shipments for international customers because they just couldn’t meet the demands and they were having too many problems with different countries’ customs and the customers’ complaints.  In the end, they pretty much were just losing money instead of making money.  I really wish that Canada wasn’t considered “international”, I mean come on!  We are on the same piece of land, and we are just across the border.  Anyways, it was fun while it lasted and now I have a huge stash of Korean skincare and tons of makeup that was introduced to me.

I got this moisturizer from the brand “Dear by Enprani” which is a bounce cheese cream. I know it might sound really weird as to why I would even apply anything with cheese on my face.  However I have also had great luck with milk skincare products, so I thought this would be a good fit as well for my skin.  Although I didn’t break into any pimples, my skin got a little bit bumpy.  I stopped using it for a couple of months during the summer time and came back to it two months ago to see if I would have the same reaction.  Sadly my skin again didn’t like it and went back to the slightly bumpy and read stage, so I had to stop using this.  This product is not recommended (at least for me) but I know many others who really love this moisturizer, so it depends on one’s skin.

Let me know what you guys think about these skincare products and if you have tried any of them, what do you think about them and what results did it give your skin?  Do you have any recommendations for my dry skin that has worked for you?  Let me know in the comments down below!  I love hearing your thoughts ☆*・゜゚・*(^O^)/*・゜゚・*☆.

Yaaaay! Finally!! Such a detailed post. I’m going to have to look for these products online!
    P. S. I had a ton of samples of the Etude House Collagen Eye Cream. It’s the only eye cream I’ve tried but I liked what it offered and how my eye bags felt the morning after! ^o^

Ohh I might just have to try that Etude House eye cream :O. I did get a couple eye creams from this year’s Sephora sale, so that will have to be on my “want to try list”.
