I’m not sure why, but I have never been a lipstick kind of gal. ย I really like the more natural, low maintenance type of lip color, so lip tints, tint-in-oils and tinted balms are all my go to products. ย Memebox has a great selection of in house cosmetics and my eyes just shot to the lip tints of course! ย I own quite a few of YSL glossy stains, so naturally I thought to myself if by chance these could be a possible dupe. ย So here it is, the review for Memebox’s I’m lip tint. ย Let’ssssss go~ย (ใยฐโฝยฐ)ใ

Product packaging:
When you first receive this product, you get it in a matte cardboard packaging with the coordinating coloured sticker on the top to indicate it is sealed and has not been opened. ย There is also the color code and the full names in English and in Korean.
The I’m lip tint packaging comes in a matte black plastic tube with the coordinating color band in the middle where the wand twists up. ย Of course, there is the classic Memebox motto, “I’m lip tint”.
On the bottom of the packaging is the label where it indicates what shade the product is and other important stuff that is all in Hangul and sadly I can’t read it.Twisting off the cap, out comes the wand. ย This doe foot applicator is a little different then the rest. ย it has a tear shape to it with a hole in the middle so product can be caught in the middle and would be easier for application. ย The tear drop doe foot really reminds me of the YSL glossy stain or L’oreal Caresse lip stains which have sadly been discontinued. Since YSL is under the L’oreal umbrella, both products pretty much were the same, even down to the doe foot applicator. ย Of course L’oreals was just made of plastic while YSL had a more luxury packaging with the hard sturdy black plastic and a metal cap with the YSL logo. ย I actually prefer Memebox’s packaging, not to be bias, since it is lightweight and not a chunky thing that takes up way too much space in my make up bag.
The shape of the doe foot applicator makes it easy to apply onto the lips since it hugs the shape of my lips seamlessly.
Also the slight angle of the doe foot also aided in the application process. ย Overall, the packaging of this product is on point! ย Sleek, skinny enough to not take up too much space, fits in my lipstick holders and doe foot included in the product is good enough for me not to have to whip out a lip brush.
How to use:
You can use this product in a couple of ways. ย Koreans love to do the gradation lip look, even to this day. ย The first method is toย dab a little in the center of your lips and blend to get the baby lips look. ย
Second method is to apply it all over your lips but not precisely at the corners of your lips. ย Take either a sponge, Q-tip or just your fingers and blend it out at the edges to create a more natural, all over lip color.
Third method is the traditional method which is just to apply it all over your lips and carefully lining the edges precisely. ย This gives the lips that dramatic pop!
This product gives the lips a super juicy, glossy look. ย If you don’t like that, no worries! ย You can always take a tissue and gently dab away the gloss. ย If you want a even more matte look, take some powder on a brush and lightly powder your lips. ย Perfect! This way you get four different looks and save money too HAHA.Color/ Pigmentation:
I’m actually super impressed and surprised how pigmented these products are. ย At first since I thought these are just a tint product, I was thinking just the regular Korean lip tints which are slightly watery or really light weight. ย To my surprise, these are almost just like the YSL glossy stains in terms of texture and color selection. ย Memebox has 15 shades for you to choose from, ranging from a nude beige brown (which is a super hot and on trend color at the moment and one of my personal favourites even though it clashes with my skintone), light pinks, bright oranges, hot reds and even down to deep deep plums. ย To my memory, even YSL doesn’t have such awesome color selections and their prices are double of Memebox’s. ย With one swipe, you get the full intensity. ย I picked two shades, a light pink and a bright red. ย I actually also picked a deep plum but I think there was a mix up and I didn’t get it in my package but that’s okay. ย Down below, I will test how well the light pink will show up on my lips. ย Of course, the red will be no problem.
Texture/ Finish:
Texture of these lip tints are almost exactly like YSL glossy stains. They have a slightly jelly, glossy finish, making the lips look super juicy and luscious. ย Sadly the light pink shade seems to enhance any dead skin on my lips, so make sure to exfoliate well beforehand. ย The red shade had no problems with clinging onto any dead skin since it is so pigmented. These are also very moisturizing on the lips and doesn’t feel super heavy, nor are these sticky at all.
After the glossy effect fades away with time (estimated about two hours for me if I don’t eat), my lips are noticeably tinted. ย With the light pink shade, my lips aren’t tinted that much but with the red shade, there is a nice berry tint to the lips. ย I’ve always wondered why people don’t use lip tints on their lips before applying their lip sticks. ย Even if your lip stick color fades, you still have the lip tint as a back up. ย With this product, it totally solves the problem! ย This product also doesn’t dry my lips out like the YSL glossy stain. ย Of course after about 4-6 hours, I usually like to put some balm on since my lips are naturally super dry anyways.
Aren’t these two colors gorgeous?!
Here’s what it looks like when it is stained on the skin. ย I think I might have wiped it away too soon when I was taking the picture. ย The red shows up a lot more on the lips and gives my lips such a pretty berry kiss tint.
Coverage:
With just one swipe, the intensity of the red shade shows up with no problem. No need to go over the lips twice with dark shades. ย With a lighter shade like the light pink I have, I had to do two coats to get it mute away my natural lip color. ย I’m not surprised since my lips are quite red naturally. ย Usually people like to mute way the lip color with foundation or concealer, but I don’t like that extra coat so if a product can do the job, I’m a happy camper. ย Sadly overtime with the light shade, it slightly settles in my lip lines and you can easily see the slight separation.
Lasting power:
The description of the product says that it can last up to 12 hours, but honestly are we really going to wear our products for 12 hours? ย My average day consists about 8-10 hours and I always wash my face before going to bed. ย The glossy part of the product lasts about 2 hours before it fades away, leaving a nicely tinted lip. ย The tint itself lasts a very long time, I’d say about 4-6 hours. ย But of course, I’d like to touch up half way through the day. ย With that being said, this product is very long lasting but I wouldn’t say 12 hours. ย It could run you up to 12 hours but we would most likely retouch half way through the day, am I right ladies (and gentlemen… I don’t judge).
Fragrance?:
Yes this product has a fruity jello scent. ย Smell-o-scale= 6/10. ย Not too strong, nothing that will make me gag.Since I have been comparing Memebox’s I’m lip tint to the YSL glossy stain, I think it is appropriate to do a demo comparison with them ya?
Although the two light pink shades are not the same, with one being a cool tone and one being a warm bright pink, we will just compare the characteristics.
Both products:
-offer a glossy finish
-slight jelly texture
-pigmented but still looks natural on the lips; kind of looks like watercolours on the lips
-stains the lips after glossy effect has faded away
Differences:
-Memebox offers a wider range of shades; some a lot more “fun” (ex: bright oranges, fuscias, lilac)
-Memebox is more affordable
-YSL’s fragrance is heavily scented with rose (a little too overpowering for my taste)As you can see here, both products offer the same glossy effect. ย I think the YSL’s finish is ever so slightly more glossy, but not a double the price kind of difference.
Also, both products stain the lips evenly and nicely. ย Sadly I don’t really like to use the YSL one much because it leaves my lips feeling dry afterwards. ย I would show you the darker shades I had with the YSL glossy stains but I recently passed them onto a friend since I didn’t want them to collect dust.
Here’s a demo of Memebox’s I’m lip tint.As you can see here, the shape of the doe foot makes it very easy to maneuver around. ย I can easily contour my lip lines using the belly of the doe foot and also have precision with just the tip of the doe foot.
Monaco nude pink is a very wearable, my lips but better type of look. ย If you don’t know what lip colour you want to wear that day, this is a great default warm toned light pink shade that would work great with any make up look.
This is the tint version of Monaco nude pink. ย Of course I didn’t expect it to tint my lips much since it is so light. ย There is little to no difference in terms of tint with this shade.
I am in loveeeeeeee with this red shade from Memebox. ย This really reminds me of the YSL glossy stain in 9 Rouge Laque which is also a bright, warm cherry red shade. ย This shade compliments my yellow undertone skin very well and makes my lips POP. ย HELL YA~ ย Too bad I don’t have enough special occasions to go to to be able to rock this lip color. ย Or should I just make it a special occasion and wear this to go to the supermarket HAHA.ย (เนหฬตแดหฬต)ู
Just to make it easier for you guys to compare the before and after tint effect, here is a picture of my bare lips.
This is after the gloss has wore off and the tint is left. ย On photo, it doesn’t look that dramatic but in person, the red tint is very visible. ย I do like the fact that it isn’t super in your face since I’m more of the natural lip look kinda gal.
Here is also the YSL glossy stain in shade 19 Beige Aquarelle which I have a love hate relationship with. ย I love the light pink shade that is in the tube but sadly it doesn’t last very long on the lips nor does it look that great applied as you can see down below.
The YSL one, at least the light one I am showing here, doesn’t sit well on the lips. ย This is with two coats and me already dabbing it out to the best of my ability. ย From far away, it looks decent and slightly mutes my lips. ย But up close like this, it looks like a straight up train wreck. ย Eww no… get it off my lips. ย Memebox wins this round!
Pro:
-wide color range to suit all types of skin tones
-affordable price of $14
-nice glossy finish; also tints your lips! 2-in-one product

Overall thoughts:
Now that I have cleared out the YSL glossy stains and passed them onto my friend, I have an excuse to buy more of these shades! ย I really didn’t think I would love these so much, but with the L’oreal Caresse lip stain being discontinued and the YSL glossy stains being $36 a pop, Memebox’s is definitely the clear winner with their super competitive price and awesome color range. ย On top of that Memebox’s scent doesn’t make me gag. ย I really don’t like rose scents, even if the company thinks it makes the product more elegant or high end, NO! ย It smells like a frinkin’ grandma. ย UGH. ย Thank you Memebox for making it a nice pleasant fruity jello scent and not overpowering it either! ย This has become a holy grail product of mine and I give this product a five stars, something that rarely happens. ย It’s like awarding a restaurant Michelin stars haha. ย Congratulations Memebox, you made a stellar product. ย Keep up the good work and make me proud.ย Overall I highly recommend this product, especially if you are looking into getting a 2 in 1 product with a strong pigmentation and easy application.
What do you guys think about this product? ย Is this something that interests you? ย Do you like the fact that this product has two functions, including a long lasting lip tint? ย Comment down below and let a sista know!
