I think I’ve become a Moonshot fan girl.ย No, it is not because I’m an OG Big Bang fan or a Blackpink fan.ย They seem to kill it with the launches and I’m always the first in line to want to review it for you guys.ย Although I’m a little late with reviewing these, better late than never?ย The original Moonshot tintfit shine was absolutely amazing and blew my thoughts on liquid lip tints out the waters. Naturally, I had to try the velvet version they came out with afterward!ย So here we are, yet another Moonshot lip tint review.ย Let’s get into the swatching!

Product packaging:
The packaging is just like the tintfit shine but in a rose gold color and not the whiteish sliver.ย You are able to see the color of the lip tint on the bottom of the tube.ย I do wish they did some color coordination on the lid as well but I guess they wanted to keep the look more uniform.
Isn’t that gradiation gorgeous?ย There is also a stopper to clean up the doe foot which is basic but essential.
Colour/ pigmentation + texture/ finish:
I’ve tried quite a few velvet lip tints before, but this one from Moonshot is one of the most interesting textures.ย When you first apply it, it feels like any other velvet lip tint.ย It is almost a cross between a matte liquid lip and a glossy lip tint, but more matte than glossy but not as drying as a matte one which makes my lips look like a butthole.ย Once it has been applied onto the lips and you pat your lips together, it feels like a jelly buttercream.ย It’s an odd texture but a very nice and luxurious feeling.
501 slow melt: Warm pinky coral shade (velvet finish)
501 Slow melt would be a gorgeous summer color with its coral undertones.ย On me and my yellow undertone, unfortunately, doesn’t look that great.ย I think the yellow and the coral just clashes.ย It is a really nice muted coral shade though and I think it would look great on those with more bronzey skin.
502 warm bare: warm-toned nudish shade with slight coral undertones
Although slightly similar looking to 501 slow melt, 502 warm bare is more wearable for me and my skintone.ย When you swatch 501 and 502 on the hand, it looks very different.ย But once it is on the lips, it looks very similar.ย 501 has more of a berry coral tone while 502 is a warm brownish coral shade.
503 Hush cooper:ย Warm tone medium berry shade
Out of the five, this one is definitely my favourite one.ย It is almost like a MLBB but slightly more red.ย This would be a great shade for when I’m feeling shy but still want to wear something along the lines of a red shade.ย It suits my skin tone well and I will definitely have lots of wear out of this shade.
504 Wanted: Cool tone dark cherry red shade
This might be one of my most favorite shades of red.ย It is a gorgeous mix of bright red and dark red. 504 Wanted leans more towards the cool side but still has a bit of warmth to it as well.
505 Red Heim:ย Warm tone dark pinky strawberry shade
505 red heim is very similar to 501 slow melt. That’s one of my main complaints with this new line of lip tints from Moonshot.ย Everything has the same undertone and 4 out of the five shades run very similarly to each other. Red Heim is a nice mix of a dark strawberry red but isn’t all that different from the rest.
As you can see here, 501 Slow melt and 503 Hush copper swatch quite similar with the difference of just two to three shades darker from each other.ย Then 501 slow melt and 502 warm bare looking almost identical on the lips with the exception of a slight tweet in an undertone.
503 Hush copper and 504 wanted also look super similar to each other, with just 1 shade darker as the difference.ย 505 Red Heim and 501 slow melt also look almost like fraternal twins.
They also don’t stain that much, which I actually prefer.ย The only shade that somewhat stains would be the darker shades like 503 Hush copper, 504 Wanted, and 505 red Heim.ย Other than that, they pretty much wipe away clean.
Lasting power:
The Moonshot tint fit blur does have a pretty good lasting power, but they will transfer if you either swipe your lips by accident or eat. They aren’t like traditional matte liquid lipsticks that won’t budge, so beware!ย I’d say it wears on my lips up to 4-5 hours before I would reapply to make it look fresh again.
Fragrance?:
There is a refreshing scent of sweet mango and it kind of reminds me of mango jelly.ย It has a smell-o-scale of 7/10 in terms of how strong the scent is and the scent fades after application.
Pro:
-gorgeous moisturizing texture
-hydrates all-day
-very pigmented
-good lasting power
Con:
-repeating shades
Repurchase?:
Maybe if they expand their shade range

Overall thoughts:
I think these are gorgeous formulas and the texture is one of a kind.ย They definitely missed the mark with lazy shade development though.ย Their first range of dewy lip tints was gorgeous and had 5 completely different shades.ย I don’t know what happened with these new Moonshot lip tints, but they need an expansion in shades fast!ย Overall I am happy with the formula but would love to see some berry tones, a real nude shade, and maybe throw in an orange shade since a lot of people like oranges as well.
