Your Centella crazy lady is back at it again!ย I’ve been meaning to write a review for Rovectin’s cica line but we are finally here and writing it whoo whoo!ย I’m going to start with their best and most outstanding product from the cica line, their sleeping pack.ย I usually don’t care for sleeping masks or packs because I just use it the same as a regular moisturizer.ย Yes I know, you are supposed to wash it off in the morning.ย Truly, what is the difference, or am I just being ignorant?ย
What is centella asiatica?
Centella Asiatica, also known as tiger grass, cica, or even pennywort is a perennial herb that grows primarily in Asia.ย It recently came into popularity for its active compounds such as madecassoside, an antioxidant-rich in amino acids and is good at hydrating and soothing the skin. There is also evidence that Centella can revitalize the skin’s barrier and soothe visible sun damage.

Rovectin’s cica care sleeping pack comes in this simple tube packaging with a good old regular pop cap.ย Simple, effective and keeps my fingers out of jars.
Texture/ Finish + Effects/ Results:
When I first got this, I thought “oh geez, another gel that won’t do much for my skin.”ย I have really dry skin and gel textures usually don’t do anything for me.ย To my surprise, even though it is a gel texture, it leaves almost a protective coating on the skin and seals in hydration.
Looking at the ingredients list, there are a lot of amazing ingredients including:
-glycerin (hydration)
-calamine (anti-itch, cooling, soothing)
-madecassoside (active for anti-redness, anti-scaling effects, reduce itching)
-centella (hydration, calming, soothing)
-moringa pterygosperma seed extract (antioxidant, moisturizing, conditioning)
-aloe barbadensis leaf extract (hydration, cooling, calming)
There’s also a couple of oil type ingredients, which can explain the surprising hydrating for my dry skin!ย The texture is somewhat of a thicker gel that sinks into the skin effortlessly but leaves a slight film on the skin.ย I’m saying “film” not in the gross, uncomfortable way but like a film of protection.ย I would wake up in the morning and my cheeks would feel smooth, hydrated, and plump!
I think this sleeping pack would work great for almost all skin types.ย I’m not too sure if this would work for oily skin types, but it also isn’t super heavy so it might just work!
Fragrance?:
Even though it says there isn’t any fragrance, I think it means there is no added fragrance?ย I do smell a little bit of Centella but it is super faint.ย There is also a hint of that very sterile, dermologist office type of scent but that goes with a lot of “clinical” type of products.ย Smell-o-scale: 2/10 in terms of how strong the scent is and the scent fades right after application and does not linger.
Pro:
-super hydrating
-does have a calming, soothing effect
-light texture but very effective

Repurchase?:
Maybe but it is a definitely recommended product :).

Overall thoughts:
I am super impressed with this cica sleeping pack and it is much better than the Laneige cica sleeping pack I tried before.ย I had high hopes for the Laneige one since a lot of you guys liked it, but it was super meh to me.ย This Rovectin cica care sleeping pack truly surprised me with its light gel texture but highly effective hydration delivery.ย I’m happy to recommend this to anyone that is looking for an effective sleeping pack!!ย Two thumbs up!
