Tia’m Aura milk face peeling toner + cream Review

Tia’m a while back contacted me and asked if I wanted to try their products.  A lot of companies do contact me from time to time, and I’m quite picky with the brands I want to work with.  But shortly after, my best friend Cosrx messaged me saying their sister company, Tia’m, would like me to try their stuff.  Now if you have been reading my blog for a while, Cosrx and I go way back and I’m a die hard Cosrx fan.  All their products that they product, I love.  So with that being said, it was an easy yes for me to want to try Tia’ms products.  I got to pick out all the products I wanted to try, and this aura milk line was the one I was most excited for since I have dry skin and dead skin appear on my face almost overnight.  So let’s see if this line will help keep my dead skin at bay.  Let’s go! (/^▽^)/

1) AHA + BHA + PHA gently removes unnecessary dead skin cells.
What is PHA?  It works similar to an AHA but is suppose to be more gentle and better for those with sensitive skin.  It also is high in moisture retention and has antioxidant effects.

2) Soft milky texture helps keep an even skintone and moisture.  Bifida Ferment Filtrate gives an antioxidant effect.

3) It is a multi peeling toner that helps absorption of next skincare step.

How to use:
After cleansing, moisten a cotton pad and use a gentle circular motion on the face.  Let the toner be absorbed into the skin after you are done massaging.

Note: Before using, lightly shake the bottle.  Use sunscreen before steeping out because it can increase skin sensitivity against UV rays.

Product packaging:
Packaging for this product is sleek, simple but effective.  When I was looking at the promo pictures for this product, I thought it was going to be a glass bottle for some reason.  But when I got it, it is actually just sturdy clear plastic. The name of the product is in English on the front, and on the back is the regular information all in Korean.

The cutest little detail is the scale on the side that tells you how far along are you week wise according to the amount you have used.  I personally don’t use a whole lot of toner, just enough for it to be slightly soaked and I use that tiny amount for my whole face and neck.

When you first get the toner, there is a little stopper that plugs the hole so it won’t spill.  I personally don’t like to keep that stopper in since it is too much work taking it off every time I want to use it.  Screwing off the lid, you’ll find a small hole which you shake the bottle like ketchup to get the product onto your cotton pad.

Texture/ Finish:
Now I personally am not a huge believer in toner since I never really see a difference with or without a toner in my routine.  So going into trying this product out, I wasn’t expecting anything at all.  To my surprise, this toner actually leaves my skin quite moisturized and there is a slight healthy glow left over.  My skin doesn’t feel oily out heavy, it just felt nice and moisturized.  I’ve been using this product for a month or so now and I can definitely say this product did keep my dead skin at bay.  I stopped using my peeling gel and my exfoliating pad that I use to cleanse my skin to really see if the peeling effect works or not.  Well, it definitely works.

pH level:
This product has a pH level of 5, meaning it is less luckily to irritate the skin since it is closest to human skin.

Fragrance?:
There is a super light scent, and it kind of smells like fresh apples.  Not sure if my nose is right since one of my nostrils is clogged at the moment LOL.  Smell-o-scale: 4/10 in terms of how strong the scent is.

Pro:
-moisturizing
-effective in exfoliating department

Con:
Nothing!

Maybe if I run out and need a toner.

Overall thoughts:
I didn’t have many expectations testing this product out since toners in the past have disappointed me.  I did however have a slight glimmer of hope since this brand is a sister company of Cosrx.  Reading the description of the product, it had all the ingredients to make this a great product (AHA, BHA, PHA too!).  Needless to say, this product worked out great for me and I’m still using it to this day.  It is a keeper for me and I’d recommend it for those who are wanting a multi functional toner.  Two thumbs up.

How to use:
Use every morning and night. For night using, apply thickly to whole face as final step of skincare routine and leave it to be absorbed.

Product packaging:
Packaging for the moisturizer is similar to the toner, but this one is in a slightly frosted plastic jar with a black screw on lid.  When you get your box, you do get a plastic spatula, but I always forget to take pictures of that.  Shesh…

Screwing off the lid, you’ll find another airtight lid to keep the cream inside the jar and for it not to spill out.  Wow that is obvious right?

Texture/ Finish:
This moisturizer is on the denser side, not quite a thick cream but it is thicker then a gel.  I honestly never know how to description creams like this because in my head, cream to me is like whipped cream that is dense while gel is a watery lightweight texture.  Using this cream after the aura milk toner is a great match since it furthers the moisture level for me.

Massaged into the skin, the cream absorbs relatively easily but for me, after it is massaged, my skin feels kinda “watery”.  If you guys have ever tried those magic creams where when you massage it into the skin, water droplets actually show on the top of your skin.  Yes, there are moisturizers like that.  Although this cream doesn’t produce water droplets, it sure does feel like it after application.  It feels quite cool haha. I personally usually do my skincare routine at night, so when I woke up, my skin felt absolutely amazing.  The milk in this moisturizer definitely hydrates my skin very well and left my skin soft and supple.  

pH level:

Fragrance?:
This cream does have a slightly strong fragrance.  It has a powdery floral scent but the scent fades after application.  Smell-o-scale: 7/10 in terms of how strong the scent is.

Overall thoughts:
To further the peeling effects, using this cream along with the toner definitely works awesome.  I’m always happy to try new moisturizers since I have super dry skin.  Not only does this moisturizer keeps my skin nice and hydrated, this also helps me combat one if the biggest problems that I have, dead skin cells.  I like how this cream is also on the thicker side, which works in my advantage since Canada winter lasts 9 months of the year.  Overall I really enjoyed this cream and I’d highly recommend it for those of you who is looking for a PHA infused product along with milk for the moisturizing effect.
