If you have dry skin like me, you’ll always get excited when you get to try new moisturizers. I got the opportunity to try J.one as a whole brand, along with the other two products (Jelly cushion, jelly pack) but this one is definitely the most different and most interesting out of the three. ย Unlike regular moisturizers, this Hana cream comes pre-portioned in little balls! ย It kind of reminds me of the roe that comes in sushi HAHA. ย Anyways, let’s get into the review!

How to use:
“After cleansing and toning, take a single capsule, crush and warm the capsule between your fingertips. Apply onto face and pat gently for better absorption.ย “
Product packaging:
Packaging for this cream is very high end looking with it’s sleek frosted jar and white lid. ย The jar is kind of bulky considering how much product it actually holds but it does add to the appeal, I just wouldn’t recommend you travel with this cream since it is heavy and bulky.
Once you unscrew the lid, there is a plastic cover to keep the moisture in and for the balls to not dry up. ย This cream also comes with a plastic spatula but I couldn’t find it at the time of taking these pictures haha.ย
Inside, you’ll find this moisturizer in odd balls! ย What on earth? ย Well the name does say “hana”, which ones “one” in Hangul. ย And no, these don’t seem to melt together overtime and it does retain it’s spherical appearance. ย For me, I was trying to be cheap and using only one portion to cover my whole face. ย This could have been possible if it wasn’t for my darn big forehead! ย So in the end, I do have to use two of these balls to cover my face and neck.ย
Texture/ Finish:
For those of you whole have tried L’occitane’s ultra rich face cream, this Hana cream reminds me a lot of this product. ย It has the same thick and creamy consistency but J.one’s is definitely less greasy and doesn’t leave your skin with a shine. ย I know L’occitane has a lighter version of this shea butter moisturizers, but I haven’t tried it first hand so I can’t tell you if it is similar.
What I usually do when I use the Hana cream is take two of the balls and place them in the middle of my palms or I use my fingers and I break up the cream a bit. ย Then I apply it to my face by massaging it in gently.
After it has fully absorbed into the skin, it leaves a light greasyย finish but you can feel your skin deeply hydrated. ย Those of you guys who don’t like your skin feeling or looking dewy/ greasy, I wouldn’t recommend this cream for you since this does have that “greasy” glow, something that I personally enjoy but you might not. ย This would be a great moisturizer for dry and combo skin type but definitely not one oily skin types would like.
pH level:
This moisturizer has a pH level of 5 (neutral) which means it is most lightly not going to irritate your skin :D. ย Yey for being gentle!
Lasting power:
I usually don’t wash my face twice in a day, so the only time that I do, which is night time, that is the only time that I moisturize my skin. ย So when a moisturizer isn’t enough for 24 hours, it isn’t hydrating enough for my opinion. ย Luckily for me, this Hana cream can handle 24 hours of hydration no problem! Yey for J.one!
Fragrance?:
This cream has a slight powdery, floral fragrance, the same type of smell that the L’occitane shea butter face cream has. ย It isn’t strong orย suffocatingย but this canย irritateย those who are sensitive to smell. ย Theย fragranceย doesย disappearย after application. ย Smell-o-scale= 6/10 for theย strength of the scent.
Pro:
-good hydration levels
-innovative packaging
-didn’t irritate the skin at all
Con:
-on the pricier side of K-beauty

Overall thoughts:
Sometimes we get bored with our regular skincare routine. ย That’s when Korean skincare swoops in and saves the day with its unique concepts, in another word, skintertainment! ย J.one’s Hana cream is definitely a skincaretainment product and does make me look forward to going into the washroom and moisturize, moisturize, moisturizing! ย The texture and finish of this moisturizer are perfect for my dry skin and do seem to hydrate my skin for a whole day. ย Would I repurchase this product in the future though? ย Due to the high price tag, I would say it would be a maybe if I need to go back to a product that I know works great and does not irritate my skin. ย Overall I really like this product and I would recommend it if you want to try a slightly higher-end K-beauty brand.
