Purito skincare one brand review

A while back, Purito contacted me and asked if I would like to try their products.  I honestly was about to decline because the packaging reminded me too much of Benton’s and it was just kind of underwhelming.  But Catherine from Skinfullofseoul assured me that it was one of her favourite brands so I was like, hmm okay I’ll give you a chance.  They first sent me the centella recovery cream, fermented complex 94 boosting essence along with the Galacto Niacin 97 power essence. Months later, I think I have a good idea of the brand, their products and my thoughts.  So let’s brand it down!  Leggo~~

“Purito means safe and purified natural ingredients that come from the clean soil.  We started with overseas distribution of various road shop brands in and out of the country.  Korean cosmetics are well known as cheap and high quality cosmetics but they were cold-hearted about Korean skincare products and didn’topen their wallets by the simple look of our design and brand.

Years of experience made us realize that their priority had not been on “how reliable the ingredients are of all the natural ingredients.

What we want is safe and honest cosmetics that everyone- friends, family and even babies, can have faith in applying to their face.” 

I’ve come across a lot of brands that advertise the fact that they are “natural” or sensitive skin built. I didn’t believe all this but I just based most of my opinions on if it can maintain hydration in my skin and does it irritate my skin.  But there was one time when I tried a peeling pad that legit peeled my forehead and made it stung, bumpy as well as raw and sensitive.  Nothing worked and the only thing that I actually soothed my skin was Purito funny enough.  That is when I was like damn, this is legit stuff.

These are some of the promises that this company does.  I know a lot of people also look for animal testing free brands and Purito is one whoo whoo!!  They also don’t use harmful ingredients, fragrances, or synthetic dyes which is a bonus!!  All their products are formulated with EWG green level ingredients.
EGW: 1-2 green level meaning there are no harmful ingredients at all (no artificial color, fragrance, ethanol, etc) + cruelty free

Also, they mentioned to me that all their products are made under the “safe manufacturing system” which means all of their products are produced under a CGMP facility (System for ensuring that products are consistently produced and controlled according to quality standards. It is designed to minimize the risks involved in any pharmaceutical production that cannot be eliminated through testing the final product).

Of course, do check each product I review to see if the product either have or doesn’t have these ingredients as this is a general list of the system they use.  Ingredients will vary depending on each product, just an FYI.

Okay now that we’ve scratched the surface of Purito’s brand story, let’s get into the products itself and how they worked for me.  Get some popcorn because this is going to be a really long review.

The Purito pad is filled with 10% of centella Asiatica extracts and other companies often include water or water of Centella for the most part.  However, for the most effective cica-cara, we put in extracts of Centella Asiatica that can not be compared with the water of Centella Asiatica, asiaticoside, asiatic acid, madecassic acid, which are core component of titrate extract of Centella Asiatica (powder form) generously.

Components of Centella Asiatica can help to stimulate collagen synthesis, activating cells, and minimizing traces when it is applied to the skin.  It also helps calm down inflamed skin, and reduce pigmention“

How to use:
After washing your face, pat your face dry.  Take the pad and with the embossed side, wipe down your entire face gently along the skin surface avoiding the eye and lip area.
Flip the pad and wipe your face with the softer side.
For retouching makeup, you can wipe areas as well!

Product packaging:
Packaging of these pads come in a simple jar that also came in a cardboard box.  Inside was a pair of plastic tweezers that I don’t know where I flung LOL.  Inside the jar are 70 centella essence soaked pads that have a nice balance of being not too wet where I’d have to squeeze the essence out which I have had problems with other brand’s pads.  Not much to comment about on the packaging.

Fragrance?:
These have a light fragrance that I believe is the natural scent of Centella.  For some reason, Centella always kind of smell like coca cola.  I know that’s super weird haha.  Smell-o-scale: 4/10 in terms of how strong the scent is.

Overall thoughts:
When I’m using soaked essence pads, I not really looking for it to truly exfoliate my skin unless it is something like Neogen’s pads which have a knitted side and a soft cotton side.  These pads from Purito are kind of like Cosrx’s in a sense they mainly hydrate, at least for me.  They have a nice amount of hydration before my moisturizer and doesn’t irritate my skin at all.  It does have BHA in it but I physically exfoliate my skin so I don’t really rely on products like this.  Not much to say really other then this product is hydrating and doesn’t irritate my skin.

Pro:
-moisturizing but the essence is thin enough that it would work for a wide range of skin types
-centella heals my sensitive cheeks
-easy to use

Fermentation is a process of decomposing organisms into fine particles with the enzyme in microorganisms.  With fine particles that are more then 150,000 times smaller than pores, it can deliver elements deep into your skin effectively.  As for fermented skincare products, the particles of the natural ingredients is far smaller than non-fermented products.  This in turn is more effective for the skin to absorb and for it to penetrate deeper into the skin.  This also helps prevent pigmentation as well as improve whitening and tightening of the skin. We choose to make our product from extracts from Bifida Ferment extracts which improves tightening and moisture for dry skin as well as help care for the dead skin cells and skin damage. Lactobacillus/rice ferment suppresses melanogenesis as well as whitening/ brightening the skin.

How to use:
Soak a cotton pad with the essence and gently wipe your skin after you have cleansed your face.  You can also just use it straight into your face as an essence by pouring a couple drops into your palms and pat it into your face.

Product packaging:
Again, there isn’t much to the packaging and I almost overlooked this product, to be honest.  This product comes in a dark brown see through bottle and to dispense the product, you just do the ketchup bottle shake.  There is a stopper which allows you to dispense just the right amount of product.

Texture/ Finish:
I personally am not a huge believer in essence since I haven’t found one that actually does something for my skin, well until now.  This one from Purito I think is their star product and needs to be talked about more.  It is slightly thicker than water and when it is absorbed into the face, sometimes I actually forget I need to put moisturizer on because this product is so hydrating!  I can’t speak upon if this product whiten/ brightened my skin or if it helped my wrinkles, but I definitely noticed my skin was slightly plumper, felt hydrated and just looked slightly more radiant.

Overall thoughts:
I think what I said up above rounds up my thoughts on this product but I really love this product and think everyone should get it.  It is super lightweight but somehow very powerful in the hydrating department and just does so much good for your skin.  No wonder they snuck this product into the first parcel they sent me haha. I was like huh?  What is this? So so good, thumbs up for sure!!

Con:
Nothing really!  Maybe I need this in a 4 L bottle so I can drench my body in it?

How to use:
After you have cleansed your face, toned and are done with your essences/ serums, massage the cream all over your face to finish off your routine.

Product packaging:
All of these creams come in a toothpaste looking tube where you screw the cap off and voila.  The one weird thing is that my Centella cream and my Sea buckthorn cream both come in a plastic squeeze tube but the deep sea pure water cream comes in the tin tube that I don’t care for since if you squeeze too hard, a shit ton of product would start to squirt out on its own.  I don’t have a huge problem with it ejaculating by itself most of the time since I’m cautious but I can’t imagine getting down to the fat part of the tube and it just becomes a huge mess.  Blah!

Texture/ Finish:
All three of these creams, of course, have different functions but also all have different textures.  I was first sent the Centella cream and thought to myself that this won’t do anything for my skin since it is so lightweight.  Nope!  It actually did a fantastic job at hydrating just enough where my skin isn’t dry but layered with the fermented complex 94 boosting essence, it is surprisingly very moisturizing.  I’d say the Centella recovery cream would be great for dry, normal and combo skin. It could also work with oily skin as it is very lightweight and doesn’t leave a greasy finish.

The deep sea pure water cream is definitely built for those with oily skin type or those who like a very lightweight cream that would absorb into the skin quickly and doesn’t leave any residue.  I’d recommend this for oily skin types and it could definitely work for normal skin type as well.

As for the sea buckthorn vital 70 cream, this one out of the three is the “thicker” one but it really isn’t that thick either.  It almost has a slightly balmy texture whereas the Centella and deep sea one just absorbs into the skin quickly.  If you’re looking for a bit more hydrating with the added bonus of Vitamin C to boost your skin complexion, this one would be for you.

pH level:
All three have a pH 5.

Fragrance?:
Centella has a slight Centella scent but it is barely noticeable.  Smell-o-scale: 3/10
Deep sea one has a slight fresh scent but I can’t pinpoint what it is but my guess is sea water LOL.  Smell-o-scale: 2/10
Sea buckthorn has a light citrus orange scent but nothing crazy smelly.  Smell-o-scale: 4/10

Overall thoughts:
Although all these creams to me are considered very lightweight, somehow they still hydrate my skin well.  My favorite has to be the first one I tried which is the Centella recovery cream just because it is so surprising to me that such a lightweight cream does a good job at maintaining the hydration levels in my skin.  On top of that, this was the only cream that could save my skin when my forehead was burned from that bloody peeling pad I did a couple of months back.  Heck, even Cosrx products weren’t as gentle as this cream so I got to give props where props are due.

Deep sea water one I don’t grab as much since I’m in the colder season at the moment but this is definitely a cream I’d use during the summer time but I might just pass it onto the mister as he doesn’t like “sticky” things.  He definitely wouldn’t complain about this one and hey, it’s blue!  His favorite color haha.

The seabuckthorn one I do grab from time to time when I want something on the lighter weight side but still slightly balmy.  I do enjoy the texture and I love that I’m injecting tons of vitamins into my skin.

Pro:
-easy, straight forward to use
-good variety for different skin types

Con:
-wish it came in a bigger size

Repurchase?:
Yes to the Centella one, maybe to the seabuckthorn and seawater isn’t for me.

How to use:
After you have washed your face and patted your face dry, apply the Centella serum and let it absorb into the skin.

Product packaging:
The packaging is very simple with this product, what you see is what you get.  The Centella buffet serum comes in a hard green plastic bottle with a pump that is relatively easy to control the amount of product you want.

Texture/ Finish:
This serum is slightly thicker than water but by no means is it thick either.  It absorbs into the skin very quickly and leaves no residue or greasiness.  I can definitely see all skin types being able to use this product.

pH level:
pH 5

Fragrance?:
Just like the Centella recovery cream, this product smells like Centella.  But unlike the cream which I think smells like coca cola, this smells slightly more grassy/ herbal but it isn’t anything that is overpowering.  Smell-o-scale: 5/10 in terms of how strong the scent is.

Overall thoughts:
This is one of those products that I can’t really tell if it is doing its job or not because my skin is so resilient.  I definitely cay say that doesn’t irritate my cheeks and in fact, it actually calmed it down a bit when the weather was changing and my hormones were going absolutely nuts.  During that time, the Centella buffet serum, as well as the recovery cream, was my saving grace. In terms of wrinkle improvements and what not, I think I’ll have to hand this over to my mom and let her use it to see how it goes so no comments on that department on my side.

Con:
Not really a con on their part but I just didn’t visually see any results.

How to use:
Use this product after you have cleansed your skin and toned it.  Either squirt some onto a cotton pad and then gently wipe your face or you can also use it as an essence where you pat it into your skin as well.

Product packaging:
The ABP liquid comes in a taller bottle then all the other products but comes in the same simple format of a hard plastic bottle and a pump to dispense the product.

Texture/ Finish + thoughts:
This product is pretty much just like water and absorbs into the face very quickly and easily. Although my face is relatively resilient and I don’t get many irritations, I did feel a bit of tingling sensation with this product.  I wouldn’t say it burns my skin but I definitely felt something and I’ve never had that with any of the Cosrx AHA, BHA or PHA products.  I think my skin did adjust to it though since the sensation did go away after a few days of use.  I do think this product is great for super mild exfoliation and I did find that my dead skin cell turn over was lower but I still have to do manual exfoliation around the nose and chin which I’m not mad about.  When I do manual exfoliation for my face, I avoid the cheeks since it is the most sensitive part of my face and I did notice when applying my base makeup that there was less flakiness which is great!

How to use:
After cleansing and toning the skin, apply a small amount (1-2 pumps) of essence onto the face and massage until absorbed.

Texture/ Finish:
This essence is also very watery and absorbs into the skin very quickly but leaves a slight greasiness that I personally enjoy with my dry skin.  I’m not sure if this is going to make sense but the greasiness isn’t the type that is slick but is more like a dry oil type of greasiness.  This is a great layering piece for those who have dry or combo skin but I wouldn’t recommend it for those who have oily skin because you’re not going to like this texture with your skin type.  If you are looking more for moisture that isn’t greasy, I’d definitely say get the fermented complex 94 boosting essences.  The “greasiness” does go away after about 10 minutes and my skin is left feeling soft and hydrated in the morning.

Overall thoughts:
I do actually quite like this essence for its ability to retain my moisture for a longer period of time but I still feel like the fermented complex essence kind of beats this a little bit.  If you want the benefits of having galactomyces as well as Niacinamide, then get this product.  If you’re looking for moisture, brightening the skin and getting it baby soft then get the fermented essence instead.

-absorbs into the skin quickly but effective for those who have dry, normal or combo skin types

-slightly greasy (but I personally don’t mind)

Overall I’m super happy I gave Purito a shot despite the deceivingly boring packaging. This brand really is the definition of “don’t judge a book by its cover” because I discovered a holy grail essence and I actually don’t even believe in essence but this one made me into a believer!!  On top of that, this brand is definitely sensitive skin approved after my disastrous encounter with that evil peeling pad from I dew care (its the two step one where step 1 is the peeling pad and step 2 is the sheet mask).  Two thumbs up for the brand I’m excited to see what else they have in store for us.  And if you’ve gotten this far into the review, congratulations.  I tried finishing this post three times in the span of four days and three of the four days, I passed out from either being super tired from work or super food coma from eating HAHA.  Cheers~Gifted by Purito, no sponsored.
