Purito from green cleansing oil review I I’m finally disappointed

The puppy love stage is over and now reality has hit.  Purito has been a brand that has given me nothing but a good high with all the amazing products like their niacinamide boosting essence and their centella green level recovery cream.  So for the past year, every time I saw a new release from them, I scream like a little girl like how Cosrx comes out with a new product.  I was so excited about their cleansing oil and now that I’ve tried it, yikes.  Let’s get into the whistleblowing session.  Please don’t hate me Purito, I still love you.

 Olive Oil: Rich in vitamin E, olive oil creates a moisture barrier on the skin, which provides moisture to dry areas while helping the skin retain its moisture balance. In addition, jojoba seed oil controls the production of sebum and has a deep cleansing effect, as it melts impurities, whiteheads, and blackheads inside the pores, as well as makeup products.

Sweet Almond Oil: Sweet almond oil has a great moisturizing effect and reduces the itchiness of dry skin. It is also rich in vitamins A and E, which have effects of improving inflammatory troubles and acne while softening light scars.

Grape Seed Oil: Grape seed oil absorbs impurities and waste in the skin’s pores to help thoroughly cleanse the skin. It also helps the skin regenerate, containing polyphenols that prevent skin aging.

How to use:
Apply the cleansing oil on your dry face and massage all throughout, including your eyes.  Once you have broken down your make up, wet your hands and massage your face once more.  You will notice the cleansing oil emulsify to a milky texture, making it easier to wash off your face.  Once that stage is done, just rinse and continue on with your cleanser and the rest of your skincare routine.

Product packaging:
The cleansing oil comes in a tall plastic bottle with a pump.  I’ve honestly been having a lot of problems with this pump.  Even when it is just sitting on my table, it is still leaking!!  Like whattt???

I’m not sure if you can see the leakage, but it comes out from the base of the pump, then leaks all the way down the bottle.  I cannot even have this tilt or else it will start dripping out.  It is so weird.

Texture/ Finish:
The texture of this cleansing oil is rather thick since there are oils like Olive oil, jojoba oil, and almond oil. It emulsifies just fine but one thing I noticed is that the cleansing power really is not there.  When I first came back from Japan and wanted to try the Uzu eye-opening liquid eyeliner, I used this cleansing oil to remove it from the back of my hand.  However, it did not budge at all and I thought it was because the eyeliner had super staying power.

Here on the back of my hand, I have the new Missha glow concealer, Uzu eye-opening liquid eyeliner, a matte liquid lipstick from Pony effect and Maybelline rocket mascara in the waterproof version.

I’ve tried a lot of cleansing oil in my lifetime and I’ve never had a problem with my make up breaking down.  The concealer broke down just fine, the liquid lipstick took a bit of time to come off but the liquid eyeliner and waterproof mascara did not budge at all.  It took a lot of rubbing to even get it to this stage…

This stage was me rubbing really hard, almost 30 times if not more.  My skin was red and irritated and there was still residue that won’t come off.  I don’t know what went wrong since I’ve never had this problem but it would be best if they revised their formulation.  I’ve seen a lot of people use this cleansing oil but they’ve said nothing but good things about it so I don’t know if I’m the only one here.

Overall thoughts:
I honestly don’t know what went wrong.  I don’t know if I’m using it wrong or this cleansing oil genuinely does not have the power to break down makeup.  I’m going to have a conversation with Purito to see what is going on with this cleansing oil and to see if anyone else has complaints about this product.  Maybe I got a lemon or maybe I’m just in denial but let’s get to the bottom of this.
