A couple of years back when Skinfood was going through a whole can of worms and filed for bankruptcy, I was scared I wouldn’t be able to buy more of my favorite black sugar scrub to scrub away my dead skin.ย Jumping back to the present time, Skinfood’s former CEO was recently arrested for embezzling $7 million from the brand’s revenue. Goodness, a real-life K-drama indeed.
I’m from is one of my absolute most favorite brands after discovering the wonders their honey mask did for my skin.ย They don’t come out with a lot of products and when they announced that they will be coming out with a whole line of fig products, I was jumping off the walls.ย The whole line seemed to gear towards hydration with the use of Yeongam figs, with addition to peptides and amino acids to an extra boost in hydration.ย I’ll be reviewing all three of them I’m from fig line so stay tuned!ย Let’s start with their scrub mask!
What are figs good for skincare benefit wise?
Figs possess high polyphenols, omega fatty acids, and vitamins (A, B1, and B2) and are known for their significant antioxidant properties.ย They also enhance skin’s hydration (preventing water loss), fading dark spots, improving skin tone, and calm skin’s redness.

Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Sucrose, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Stearalkonium Hectorite, C13-15 Alkane, Ficus Carica (Fig) Fruit Powder, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Seed Meal, Fragrance(Parfum), Juglans Regia (Walnut) Shell Powder, Caprylyl Glycol, Caramel
How to use:
Spread gently on your face and massage into the skin in a circular motion.ย Leave it on or 10-15 minutes, wash it off, and continue on with your routine (serum, essence, moisturizer, etc).
Product packaging:
The packaging is always high quality with I’m from.ย All their products usually come in glass jars and bottles, other than the cleansing balm which came in a plastic jar.ย This fig scrub mask comes in a glass jar, which isn’t the most travel friendly since it is quite heavy and will break if you drop it.
Inside comes with a plastic cover to keep everything more airtight and it comes with a twist-off lid.
Texture/ Finish:
If you saw sugar scrub and got scared that it would cause micro-tears in your skin, I don’t think you have to worry about it since the sugar is super duper fine in this scrub.ย Think Skinfood’s sugar scrub but divide the granules in 4, that’s how fine this is.ย There is also fig powder, Sweet Almond sed meal, as well as walnut shell powder for that extra exfoliating strength.ย Again, don’t freak out.ย The particles are super duper fine.ย I don’t want you guys to be freaking out about it like Kylie’s skin scrub before the launch LOL.
I never had a problem with over scrubbing my skin or making it super red from it.ย The texture is also a bit more solid then Skinfood’s, so you do kind of have to dig your spatula in there to get some.
I usually just plop some on my cheeks and forehead and then spread it that way.
Oh yes, and it smells delicious!ย It smells like light caramel and sweet figs, but not in a sickeningly sweet way.
Effects/ Results:
After then 15 minutes is up, I rinse it with some warm water and the scrub leaves my skin feeling supple and soft.ย There is also a bit of hydration added to my skin but it isn’t enough for me to skip my serums and moisturizers.
Fragrance?:
There is a light caramel and fig scent and the scent does linger after application and throughout the 10-15 minute waiting period.ย The scent does go away after it is washed off and smell-o-scale: 6/10 in terms of how strong the scent is.
Pro:
-superfine granules
-softens and hydrates the skin
-smells delicious
Con:
Nothing really
Repurchase?:
Maybe but mostly likely yes.

Overall thoughts:
I’m definitely not surprised that I like this scrub. Although it is a bit pricey, landing in the mid-range, I think it is well worth it and would definitely reconsider repurchasing when it is finished.ย It isn’t as hydrating as Skinfood’s but I think this could work to their advantage as I see all skin types being able to enjoy this rather than just normal to dry skin.ย Overall I really like his product and would recommend it if you are in the market for a scrub and mask product.
