Whalmyung has been one of those brands that have always been on my want to try list but never got around to.ย So I was ecstatic when I reached out and they were nice enough to offer me their new minimal line to try out!ย The minimal line is relatively new and a line that is more affordable than their flagship products.ย The whole line focuses on Azuelene as the key ingredient which is derived from eucalyptus and helps with soothing sensitized or troubled skin.ย Along with the use of Azulene, they also have Whalmyung’s 5 signature ingredients WM1897-P5 which consists of Azuelen, Jojoba oil to control sebum, and reduce acne, Beta-glucan to boost skin’s immunity and hydration, D-panthenol which has vitamin B5 to strengthen the skin’s barrier.

How to use:
After cleansing, toning, and any serums/essence/ ampoules you want to use, apply enough of this minimal eucalming cream and massage it all over your face and neck.
Product packaging:
When I first opened the box, I was quite surprised at the size of the jar.ย In pictures online, it looked much larger or I’ve just been too used to the generous size of most K-beauty products I have used.ย For a realistic dimension of the jar, it has a dimension of 6 cm and a height of 5.3 cm.ย There is 30 mL of product inside this airtight jar, which to compare, is the same amount has Cosrx’s Centella blemish cream.ย The usual amount of moisturizer usually ranges from 50 mL up to 100 mL (Purito centella green level recover cream 50 mL, Beauty of Joseon Dynasty cream 60 mL, Cosrx Advanced snail 92 all in one cream).ย I haven’t been using this cream as an everyday cream but more as a treatment or just solely for the hot summertime (aka. now), which the sun is still going strong even though it is September.
I love that the cream is housed in this fancy pump type dispenser which keeps air out and bacteria away from not having to dig your fingers into it.ย You can also use the top part to mix other products into it like powdered Centella or serums into it to create your own cream.
Texture/ Finish:
There wasn’t too much information on the website about the product other than it explaining the use of Azulene.ย This cream is a very lightweight gel that is almost like water and absorbs into the skin effortlessly, leaving nothing but hydrated skin without heaviness or greasiness.ย ย
Once applied on the skin, you can quickly feel this coolness which isn’t from any form of mint.ย The coolness/ soothing feeling also lasts for a good 5 minutes, which is the best feeling ever when you’re sweating like a hot pig like me.
My skin definitely feels so much calmer and the redness around my cheeks subsided quite a bit.ย This cream is definitely a summertime product for me since it wouldn’t be hydrating enough during the winter and springtime for me.ย I’m a dry soul, I know…

Overall thoughts:
At first, the size of the jar is definitely alarmingly small, but if you were to think of this more of a treatment rather then an all-over cream, I can justify it that way.ย Also, they have 25-30% off sales during special holidays if you really want to get your hands on the minimal line or any of their iconic signature product.ย Overall I love the simplicity of this line, the focus of Azuelene to truly help soothe and calm the skin, and how all the products work better together.ย I will be reviewing two other products from the minimal line, so stay tuned for that :).
