Aritaum Ginger Sugar Overnight Lip Mask Review + Demo

Lip balm is one of the few products I hoard and collect, even if I do have 20 already opened (click here to check out my lip balm overview).  Yes, I know.. I have a problem.  But hey!  Everyone has some type of addiction, mine just so happens to be lip balms and BB cushions (ﾟ⊿ﾟ).  I’ve been around the block and have heard great things about this lip treatment from Aritaum but somehow never got around to getting it for some reason.  Jolse and I started working together and they asked what I’d like to test out, of course this had to be one of them! So to cut it short, let’s start with the review!! Go Go~

How to use:
Before going to bed, massage a generous amount of the lip mask all over your lips and wake up to super moisturized lips.  You can also use this as a lip balm throughout the day if you please.

Product packaging:
 Packaging for this product is quite simple, in it’s caramel ginger coloured screw on lid and a dark brown bottom.  On the lid it indicates the name of the product and surprisingly, good amount of English to understand what the product is for.
On the back… I got no clue LOL.  There’s the barcode!

Texture/ Finish:
Now the texture is one of the big things that make or break a good lip balm (well duh).  I prefer a lip balm that is on the thicker side, not greasy and adheres to my lips for a long period of time.  When I’m on the go, I don’t mind a lighter lip balm to condition but I tend to lean towards ones that are on the thick side since I’m dry everywhere!  The texture of this lip treatment is exactly wanted with its super thick texture.  I usually put this lip balm/treatment before I go to bed, and I’d wake it up with the lip balm still on my lips!  That is crazy!!  The only other lip treatment I can think of that does that is Bite Beauty agave lip treatment, which I don’t buy anymore since it’s frinkin’ $30 and doesn’t seem to work for my lips anymore.  I also use it sometimes as a lip balm, but when the wind blows my hair, my hair gets all stuck on the lip balm, then touches my glasses.  I hate it when my glasses get dirty!!!!!! Worse is when it gets oily and it’s all foggy and all strikey.  UGH.

I wouldn’t say this lip treatment is waxy, nor would I say this is greasy.  It is just the right amount of thickness to adhere to the lips and coat it for more then 10 hours.  You can easy dig your finger into the lip treatment, so just make sure to be gentle when you put your finger into it.

Lasting power:
Since I use this mostly right before I got to bed, I usually sleep for 6-8 hours and wake up with the lip balm still there. Not 100% there but still a good 30%.  That is crazy good for a lip treatment that only costs 9,000 won!  Not only that, the moisture left on my lips lasts all day for me, something that isn’t easily found in any old lip balm.

Fragrance?:
Since the name is “ginger”, you’d think it would smell heavily of ginger right?  Actually no!  There is a very subtle hint of ginger, warm sugar with a touch of citrus (I think it might be orange).  If your sensitive to fragrance, I don’t think this would bother you too much since smell-o-scale (my nose) detects that it is only 4/10 in terms of how strong the smell is.

Okay, let’s test this out on the lips!

Here are my lips when they are dry.  My lips here aren’t as dry as they can be, just a bit chapped but no peeling dead skin.  For me, I’m lucky since the dead skin on my lips come off easily after I brush my teeth.  Just a bit of water does the trick for me :D.  No lip scrub needed.

With the lip treatment on, you can already tell it softened up my lips significantly softer, moisturized and darn I say it looks plumper?  Not sure if it is the slight gloss effect, but my lips (and my boyfriends… yes I tried it on him too) looked pouter then before! Oh la la~

Overall thoughts:
This product seriously deserves ever single hype out there.  Before even trying this product out, I heard so many good things about this lip mask, even I got curious and wanted to join the bandwagon.  Now that I have, I am not going back!  $9 for a product that can out preform a $30 one, I’m all for it.  I highly recommend all of you guys to get yourself one since your lips is one of the thinnest parts of your body, also one that doesn’t produce it’s own oils so you got to take extra good care of em!  Overall I’m super impressed with this product and highly highly recommend it.  And yep, another holy grail product to add to my list! σ(≧ε≦ｏ)
