I’m always on the hunt for the best cream blush, and if it comes in a cushion form? ย Even better. ย Yes, I know, I’m cushion crazy hehe. Even my blushes now, I’m moving towards cushion ones since it is easy to use, quick and looks more natural. ย This one from Missha, Fiddy from fiftyshadesofsnailย loves which ones I would love too :P. I’ve been wanting to try these for a while since the colors that Missha offers were a lot more unique than a lot of other roadshop brands. ย I got my eye on the lavender one, and now that I have it… let’s get started with the review!

Packaging:
The packaging is quite standard for the rest of the cushions out in the market. ย The blushers are always smaller then the base make up cushions, measuring at 6 cm in diameter. ย The case is color-coordinated with whatever shade you buy which is super convenient especially for storage since I don’t have to guess what I am grabbing in my collection. ย I think the case is quite accurate with the shade that ends up on my skin. ย Good job colorist at Missha, you didn’t mess up in this department :).
The air puff isn’t those wimpy blue ones which has no bounce to it. ย This one has a slight bounce, kind of like the thicker brown ones but not as thick and doesn’t dry me out. ย The only odd thing for me with this air puff is that because it is smaller, I can’t fit three fingers like how I normally do with the big ones but that’s not really an issue. ย Just me complaining like a spoiled brat.
If you also notice, this cushion isn’t like the usual cushions with the sponge inside but those netted ones, hence the name “tension”. ย I actually like these ones a little better because you don’t have to work as hard to get the product onto your sponge. ย It doesn’t dry out as fast, and you get an even application.
Color/ Pigmentation:
These blushers come in 6 shades, all that I actually want in my collection but I had to be a grown-up and pick one :'(. ย What the… I know haha. ย More like I don’t have any space in my collection. ย Anyways, I picked the one shade that I knew I didn’t have, which is a light pink with a slight lavender undertone. ย A shade like this against my yellow skin not only gives me an innocent look, the lavender undertone also brightens up my complexion which is always nice.
Blended out, these look very faint but the hint of color looks really natural. ย Every time I wear it, it just thinks to myself, “Wow these really are just like watercolors for the cheeks”. ย I’ve been so obsessed with this lavender basket for the whole summer because it is super lightweight in texture and the color is light and bright enough for the summertime.
Texture/ Finish:
Just like the description states, this blush has a dewy finish, looks supernatural in the skin and somehow it has this interesting jelly texture. ย I don’t know how to fully explain it, but it kind of sets like jelly on the skin. ย One thing you do have to keep in mind with this blusher, if you are applying it over your base makeup, you will run into the problem of stamping away your foundation. ย You could either apply a layer bright enough on your skin before your foundation so it could peak through and also have time to set before your foundation, or just go easy when you apply it over your foundation.
Lasting power:
Since I don’t really use a thick layer of this, lasting power is about 3-4 hours before I’d have to reapply. ย I wouldn’t fault the blusher since I don’t want to go nuts on applying it since it moves my base make up a little bit.
Fragrance?:
There is a slight fragrance floral scent with a hint of like cologne-ness to it. Fragrance does fade after application, smell-o-scale: 7/10. ย I honestly don’t really understand why they need a scent for this since it’s going on your face anyways.
Okay let’s give this a try shall we?
Here is my face pretty ย much almost done other than blush and lips. ย If you want to see what I used for my base makeup, check out my latest Amorepacific age correcting foundation review.
Simply press your air puff onto the tension cushion and you’ll get something like this. ย See how even it goes onto the puff?
And viola! ย Nice subtle flush.
Pro:
-natural looking
-great color selection
-unique texture
Con:
-slightly moves base make up around

Overall thoughts:
I really like this cushion blusher and it did not disappoint. ย I love how natural it looks, the application is easy, the compact is convenient. I absolutely love the fact that it is truly watercolors for the cheeks. ย Since getting really into K-beauty and going along with the whole natural look, I haven’t gone back to powder blushes for a long time since cream and liquid blushes work so much better with my dry skin. ย Overall I really like this and it has the possibility of being a holy grail product but I wouldn’t want to say that since I have only tried one shade. ย Two thumbs up and I give you the approval to get it if you have been looking at it for a while.
