Cosrx told me a while back they were launching about a dozen products, and I was shell shocked because… well that is a lot of products! ย If you don’t know who Cosrx are, they have become a beast in the K-beauty skincare realm and raved by many. ย Why? ย Because of their affordability, simple formulations and are super gentle on the skin. ย I personally love them because they just produce some of the best products, from their honey ceramide line to now something I’m loving, which is their light propolis ampule which gives me the most gorgeous glow every time I use it. ย So when I saw their sneak peek of their BB cushion they were coming out, my tiny fingers were already emailing them asking if they could send them my way so I can review them for you guys. ย That and you know… cushion crazy here. ย Anyways, let’s get into the review! ย I don’t have much information since they haven’t released it yet. ย I know some people has gotten this cushion to try out but there still isn’t much information on it, so please forgive me. ย Let’s go!

How to use:
1) Open the Clear Fit Blemish Cushion and remove the seal/ safety seal of the product.
2) Gently press on the sponge with the puff and apply the proper amount of content onto the puff.
3) Spread it evenly and lightly by patting onto the face with the puff.
4) Apply another layer for more coverage if needed.
Packaging:
I’m quite surprised they actually opted for a rectangle case with a fully black and sleek look. ย The case seems to be slightly slimmer due to the rectangular case which is a good thing :D. ย I personally wish the text was another color since sometimes I can’t see the name of the product. ย But I mean, if I’m grabbing something black in my collection, I would know it is the Cosrx cushion.
The sponge isn’t like your typical blue sponges you’d get in your roadshop brand. ย Aside from this sponge being light grey (which is quite rare), the application side seems to be a lot more dense the usual. ย I think they did this on purpose since you’d be able to achieve a higher coverage this way since there are less pores, giving it the ability to push product into the skin.
When you first get the cushion, there is a sanitary seal which keeps everything nice an new. ย I always just want to leave this on there so the product doesn’t dry out.. but we know that I’m not going to be sticking it back on every time I use it. ย That’s ridiculous.
What they didn’t really promote is that this cushion is the “mochi” style. ย If you don’t know what a BB mochi is, it is when the product itself is sandwiched in two sponges like a Dorayaki which Doraemon loves. ย This ables the product to dry out slower and also dispense onto the air puff more evenly. ย I really like that the sides are also sealed, not like a lot of other mochi cushions which just has two sponges sitting in the compact. ย You really don’t have to push hard for the product to come out for this cushion, which is awesome!
Color/ Pigmentation:
Unfortunately, these cushions come in only two shades but that really doesn’t surprise me since it is K-beauty we are talking about. ย Cosrx is loved internationally as well, so I hope they do come out with a couple more shades. ย Both these shades aren’t too bright, which I can appreciate. ย I can actually use both shades but since I’m on the darker side, I’m going to stick with shade 23 for now.
Shade 21, like the name states, is a more bright look but it doesn’t look too Casper like which I can appreciate. ย It has a more yellow undertone and doesn’t have any grey undertone. Honestly, these cushions are more like foundations then a cushion. ย Shade 23 has a slightly pinker undertone which I was scared might not work for me, but blended into the skin, it works just fine.
Texture/ Finish:
Since this cushion is marketed towards people with oily, acne-prone skin, of course it would have a more matte finish. ย I was expecting that before I even got it and was actually scared I would hate this cushion since it would be drying on my skin. ย To my surprise, this cushion has a satin to matte finish but there somehow still a nice natural glow to it. ย I’m not saying it is a dewy finish type of glow, but my skin looks balanced if that makes sense. ย Unfortunately for my dry skin, this can easily look a little too drying and cakey for my liking. ย I think if I really want to work with this cushion, I’ll have to either have a really light hand while using the air puff, or use a stippling brush.
Coverage:
K-beauty cushions for me are usually on the light to medium coverage, very rarely medium to full coverage. ย I really don’t mind since I like to have light make up for everyday anyways. ย But lately, since I haven’t been getting enough sleep and stressed out, my skin has been acting up like never before. ย So I’ve been looking for something to give me coverage, and this product delivers oh so well. ย I wasn’t expecting this product to be so potent, but I found that out the first time I tried it a week ago. ย One pat of this can coverage your whole face, that’s how potent it is.
Lasting power:
This product adheres to the skin so well, it’s almost unreal. ย The adherence power reminds me a lot of Sulwhasoo perfecting cushion intense where it has high coverage but still manages not to cling onto dry patches. ย I applied a generous two layers on my skin, which did look cakey around my cheeks but I was hoping I could sweat my way into it. ย Even though I was sweating buckets, it wouldn’t budge! ย I was like WOW. ย Wear time easily was 8+ hours with no fading, no budging.
Fragrance?:
There isn’t a strong scent to it, but there is a herbal scent which I’m suspecting is from the Centella and tea tree. ย The scent doesn’t linger when I apply it on my skin, and it surely doesn’t stay once applied. ย Smell-o-scale: 4/10 in terms of how strong the scent is.
As you can see, half of my face is pretty red lately. ย I think its due to hormonal imbalance, stress and not enough sleep. ย The sides of my nose is also quite red and I’ve been getting little irritation bumps and even pimples (which I don’t usually get)!
And here is one layer. ย Before is on the left side, after is on the right. ย There’s a pretty big difference! Before…
Both sides are done with two layers applied. ย Other then my dark circles, my skin is quite perfected.
The unfortunate thing for me and my dry skin is that if you apply too much, it will look cakey and accentuate every little detail on the skin. ย It looks even worse when I smile and you can see my laugh line and pores.ย
Full face other then my lips because.. I got hungry HAHA and had to go eat dinner. ย Let’s pretend something is there okay :P.
Pro:
-high coverage
-color suits my skin well
-the finish is satin/matte but still slightly moisturizing
Con:
-need a light hand or else cakey (for me at least.. dry skin problems)
-need more shades!!
Repurchase?:
Yes :P, or please make one for dry skin in mind. ย Same formula but slightly more moisturizing and a little less potent.

Overall thoughts:
I honestly was so scared I wasn’t going to like this since I have heard other people not liking their first cushion. ย I can stand (cyber stand) here and tell you guys, this stuff is BOMB. I’m honestly blown away since this is only the second makeup product they have produced. ย All of the other products they have are all skincare, so I was wary of how they will do. ย Didn’t disappoint me, they killed it with the formulation, adherence, color not having a grey undertone, blends nicely, and has long-lasting power. ย Overall I’m super impressed with this cushion and if I do want to continue using this, I’m going to have to use a stippling brush and a super moisturizing primer like J.one jelly pack. ย I highly recommend this cushion to those with a normal, combo, and oily skin.ย For dry skin type, we can use it but just be cautious with the method of application.
*Update: ย So I’ve been emailing Cosrx and there seem to be more shades in the making but the release date isn’t set so don’t get your hopes up too much :P. ย Also, refills sold separately are in the talks, just an FYI.*

Been wanting to try this product since I saw this in Style Korean for pre-orders but I have oily skin and olive skin tone, as of now, I still haven’t found the right cushion compact for me. They’re always either too dewy or too pale or both. Your review is really great, it seems like the formula will suit my skin, however, I agree with the shades. CosRx is known internationally, they should make shades darker than n23.

I think if enough people would tell them directly, they would consider it. I’d suggest maybe commenting on your IG posts to give them the heads up :).
Been searching for good reviews for this cushion and so glad found yours. Thanks!
Glad I was helpful :). Thanks for stopping by~
hi christina! i’m from indonesia and i really enjoy reading your reviews ๐ i’m interested in purchasing this, but could you tell which shade did you use in the demo? since (i think) our skin’s shade is similar lmao. thanks in advance!

hi! i’ve been using this product for couple weeks now and I looooovveee it so much!
however, the puff seems so fragile as i broke the rubber after a week. do you experience the same? thanks ๐
Hi Christina! I love your blog ๐ I know it doesn’t come with a refill, but do you know if you can buy cosrx cushion refills separately? Or is it like Western brands where you need to buy a new cushion each time? Thanks!
Wow, thanks for the informative review! They just launched another shade on StyleKorean! #27, deep beige. Iโve never bought a cushion, nor foundation before so I have no idea if I should get #23 or #27. I wish they included a picture of the shade.
This is an incredible storey!! My face is not as greasy as it was previously after using your advice. There are also less acne outbreaks. I’m delighted you guys wrote this article to improve people’s lives!!
