Abib rice probiotic overnight mask review I THE best sleeping mask!

Probiotic has been all the rage the last two years and unfortunately for me, I haven’t been able to try many products with probiotic ingredients in them.  The last product I got to try that had probiotics was a complete disappointment but I am determined to find a probiotic product that works well with my dry skin.  Abib has recently opened its global website which does ship overseas and one of their newest products was their rice probiotic overnight mask.  I cried a little inside (cried of happiness) since rice is one of my favorite ingredients for my skin type.

Abib skincare?  Who are they and what do they stand for?

Abib is from the first month of the ancient Hebrew calendar that corresponds to Nisan.  Abib (the K-beauty brand) based its ideology on “the first month”, to thrive and aim for pure and simplistic skincare.  Their mission is to keep your skin cycle at its prime, natural complexion without the fuss and illusion of current trends.

The brand strives to produce products that help increase the skin’s self-generating power, prevent toxic ingredients, slow down the aging process and induce removal of dead skin cells and increase the skin’s natural defense.  Abib’s packaging is also kept at a minimalistic aesthetic to showcase the products simplistic and pure approach by eliminating unnecessary elements and minimal colors.  They also take the extra step with their packaging by choosing recycled materials, printing with soy ink, and using 100% biodegradable shipping packaging to make sure they produce the least amount of a carbon footprint possible.

How to use:
After washing your face, at the last step of skincare, take an appropriate amount and apply it gently.  Then lightly cleanse the next morning.

Product packaging:
Abib’s rice probiotic overnight mask comes in a simple white beige, hard plastic jar.  To get to the product, you simply screw off the top, and viola!

Inside the jar is a lid to keep everything neat and clean.  There is even a spatula built into the lid.  To be honest, does anyone use this?

Texture/ Finish:
When I first got this and opened the jar, I was like “oh dear… it’s a gel.”  Now if you don’t know, me and gel textures usually don’t mix since gel normally indicates to me that the product is light in texture and hydration.  To my surprise though, Abib’s rice probiotic mask is like a thick jelly (hence the “barrier jelly” underneath the product name haha).  Think lukewarm jelly that easily spreads on your skin and sinks in beautifully but also makes your skin feel very protected.

Don’t be fooled, this is not those sad watery gels.  The ingredients list to my surprise is also relatively short and to the point.  There is Lactobacillus (aka. probiotic) which is said to be able to reduce acne outbreaks, manage dry skin, reinforces the skin’s natural barrier, and balances your skin’s pH levels.  I personally found the probiotic alongside the rice bran extract to have even brightened my complexion and softened the texture of my dry skin as well.

The overnight mask leaves a slight stickiness but once it has fully sunken into your skin, it protects you throughout the night and I wake up to my skin still feeling super hydrated and plump.

Overall thoughts:
Abib’s rice probiotic overnight mask is easily one of my most favorite sleeping masks.  I’ve tried quite a few sleeping masks but none of them have provided my skin with the same level of hydration as this one.  The rice extract combined with probiotics truly maintained my skin’s overall health while deeply hydrating it and softening it overnight all at the same time.  I can’t say enough good things about it and you can either layer it on top of your moisturizer or wear it as a substitute for your moisturizer.  Whichever way you choose to use it will give you amazing results!

I recently bought this from Jolse and tried it. Not sure if it’s breaking me out or what, but I detected a noticeable rose scent in the product. Your review said it’s unscented, and even the ingredients have non fragrance. Does yours smell faintly of rose or did I get a defective product lol

I recently tried this out and I think it’s breaking me out 🙁 So sad because the ingredient list looks incredible. I was confused when I saw your review saying it has no scent. It smells like rose water to me? Is that accurate or did I get a fake one (which I doubt)
