A’pieu cover pang glow cushion review I Another amazing cushion from A’pieu?

A'pieu cover pang glow cushion reviewAlthough IOPE cushion as the first BB cushion I ever tried, A’pieu’s air fit cushion that retailed for $5 back in the day was the second one I experienced and it will always have a spot in my heart.  Since then, they have come out with countless cushions and I have tried most of them and the brand has maintained a winning strike until now.  They recently came out with this Cover Pang and of course, I was intrigued.  There are two versions to this line, fuller coverage with a more matte finish and the moist version.  Of course, I picked up the moist version since I have dry skin.  Let’s get into it, me just sad.

A'pieu cover pang glow cushion reviewProduct packaging:
The packaging is quite standard and boring, to be honest. At this point in time, I’m expecting them to step up their game since the packaging is somewhat cheap, especially when I have seen their past packaging being way more interesting and higher quality.  No excuse!

A'pieu cover pang glow cushionInside is the same standard mirror that will work on the go.  Of course, we have the familiar flip-open cover which houses the soaked cushion.

A'pieu cover pang glow cushionAs for the air puff that it comes with, at least they got a little bit more of a unique point update which can help with getting into the cracks and crevasses.

A'pieu cover pang glow cushion reivewThis is the type that is a bit more doughy and dense, not like the dark blue ones we are normally used to.  I’m wondering if the blue ones have been phased out now?  I seem more of this dense type nowadays.

A'pieu cover pang glow cushion reviewShade range:
The shade range is one thing that A’pieu, and a lot of K-beauty companies, have been lacking for a long time.  This cushion line comes in three shades.  I have here shade 201 Vanilla which matches my Mac NC25 yellow undertone skin tone nicely but still has a bit of paleness to it.  It also doesn’t have any grey undertone.

A'pieu cover pang glow cushion reviewIf you want to check out all three shades, check out Joohky’s review on this cushion.  I was wondering if shade 3 beige would work better for me but it seems like a bit of a jump of shades.  It could just be the lighting sine it looked fine on Heily’s skin.

A'pieu cover pang glow cushion reviewOkay enough talking, let’s try this on.

A'pieu cover pang glow cushion reviewHere is my bare face with just a bit of lip balm.  I got some dry ass lips man…

A'pieu cover pang glow cushion reviewMy skin here has been quite irritated due to the weather changing and my period just around the corner.  It is quite red all over my face sigh…

A'pieu cover pang glow cushion reviewIf you guys haven’t used a BB cushion before, you just take the air puff provided in the compact, stamp it onto the soaked cushion and pat away onto your skin.  After I used the air puff, I never went back to using the Beauty Blender.  It is just less cleaning if you have multiples of the air puffs and they are cheap to buy.

A'pieu cover pang glow cushion reviewHoly cows, shade 2 vanilla is so damn pale.  Well, people would call this “bright”, I call this pale af.

Coverage:
With a name like “cover” pang, you would expect this to have pretty high coverage. This does have decent coverage and covered most of my redness was coverage.  However, if you have more issues you would like to cover, I don’t think this can give you a strong high coverage (at least not with the moist version).  If you are looking for a solid medium to high coverage foundation that will look flawless, check out Moonshot’s micro correct fit foundation.  That is truly the bomb!!!

A'pieu cover pang glow cushion reviewTexture/ Finish:
I’m not sure if you can tell in this photo, but even in the arm swatch up above, you can kind of tell it is a bit powdery.  The adherence is not the best and you can almost tell the pigments and the liquids are not well formulated.  It is almost separating and it continued to separate throughout the hours of wear.  I was so upset with the way it was sitting on my skin that I didn’t even bother to continue with the rest of my face.  It was just blah.

A'pieu cover pang glow cushion reviewSome people may enjoy the “brightened” look, I personally don’t like looking so bright on the face but look like a detached soul from the neck down.

A'pieu cover pang glow cushion reviewThere also isn’t that glow factor I was looking for nor was it as hydrating as the original air fit.  Have they lost their touch?

Lasting power:
I’d give it an average of 2-3 hours before everything starts bunching up and getting gross.  I’m not a fan.

Fragrance?:
There is a mild soapy fragrance.  Smell-o-scale: 3/10 in terms of how strong the scent is.

Pro:
-decent coverage with the first application

Con:
-not formulated well
-not the best adherence
-not enough glow/dewy finish for a moist formula
-the packaging is so boring compared to past releases

Repurchase?:
Absolutely not

Overall thoughts:
I might have been roasting it all throughout the review, but my standards for A’pieu are relatively high since they have sent the bar relatively high in the past for their affordable price point.  Yes it is a $15 and I shouldn’t be complaining so much about the basic packaging, but with cushions like their wonder tension and their air fit cushion which costs $5, what is their excuse?  This cover pang cushion was just a poor money grab of “Oh let’s just come out with a half-ass product, they’ll still buy it.”  Like you literally grabbed a standard packaging in the factory, stamped a name on it and stuck a label in the back, and called it a day.  Like come on A’pieu, you guys always gave us better than that.  Even if a cushion is $5, you guys at least played around with the design.  Anyways, enough of my lecturing this cushion like it is a child, I don’t think it is worth anyone’s money. If you really want to buy an A’pieu cushion, I’d recommend the Wonder tension or air-fit cushion line instead of this sad mistake of a product.  It’s a decent product if I haven’t tried A’pieu’s past cushions but I have so, it’s a no.
Thank you, next.
