Axis-Y new skin resolution gel mask reviewTexture/ effects:
The latest Axis-Y new skin resolution gel mask is more suited for all skin types.  This is a hydrating, supercooling, and soothing mask.  The cooling effect it has on the skin is unmatched, a mask I wish I had during the crazy heatwave we had in Vancouver last summer.  This mask stays cool for the whole 15+ minute duration after application and you can see a noticeable difference when it comes to skin redness and irritations.  The redness in my cheeks reduces almost instantly, while the irritation is put at ease.

Hydration-wise, it is definitely much more hydrating than the mugwort pore clarifying wash-off pack as it is a gel-based wash-off mask.  The amount of hydration it gives my super dry skin is decent but definitely noticeable.

Fragrance?:
There is a slight mugwort and Centella earthy scent but it isn’t strong.  The scent does linger after application, however, I find it calming and soothing!  Smell-o-scale: 4/10 in terms of how strong the scent is.

Pro:
-long-lasting cooling effect
-very soothing
-lightly hydrating for my dry skin

Con:
-mugwort/ leave bits hard to wash off

Repurchase?:
Heck yes!

Overall thoughts:
This is easily a holy grail product that I can see myself using for the rest of my life.  I most likely will be pretty lost without this amazingly cooling and soothing mask if I want to sound super dramatic.  I love the texture, I love the light hydration and the cooling effect on the skin is truly unmatched. I personally can’t speak on if I think the 2% niacinamide helps with brightening up the complexion much because you are washing it off and aren’t leaving it on the face over time to do its magic.  Overall, two things up, and I highly recommend this mask.  Heck, you can just pick up the jar and already feel the jar is super cold.

Axis-Y mugwort pore clarifying wash off pack reviewTexture/ effects:
The Axis-Y mugwort pore clarifying wash-off pack is a completely different animal from the gel mask.  This is the first mugwort mask they came out with and I love it for different reasons.  I personally am not the biggest clay mask user since it isn’t compatible with my dry skin type.  Clay masks tend to suck me dry, but this one is a little different.  This isn’t exactly a clay mask, but it definitely gives that feeling.

Once it dries down, my skin does feel a bit dry and crackly.  The adzuki beans (aka. red beans) dry down with the mask and is kind of a pain to wash off.  It really likes to stick onto the skin like crazy.  I personally don’t see the point in adding the beans since the only time you’ll massage the skin would be when you rinse it off.  Maybe if the particles were milled smaller, it might give a slight gentle exfoliation.

Out of the two versions, this one is definitely not built for my skin type, but I still like to use it on my nose once a week to help suck out all that sebum.  I find it to not only suck out the excess sebum but also has a softening effect on the skin.  Keep in mind, this version isn’t necessarily built for my skin type, so you might have better experiences than me.

Fragrance?:
There is quite a strong, medicated herbal scent to it that lingers after application.  It smells a lot like mugwort and again, I personally don’t mind the scent.  Smell-o-scale: 7/10 in terms of how strong the scent is.

Pro:
-sebum controlling
-skin softening effect
-soothing

Con:
-hard to wash off

Repurchase?:
No

Stars given out of 5:
⭐️⭐️⭐️

Overall thoughts:
I give this an average score, however, this again is because I have dry skin and this product isn’t exactly built for that.  I’d love to hear how this can help you if you have combo to oily skin types! The cooling effect isn’t as prevalent in this version, but the soothing effects are definitely there.

Best korean mugwort mask Axis-Y review

best Mugwort mask Axis-Y reviewOkay!  The fun part begins 😀

Mugwort wash off mask reviewHere is my bare face with nothing on it.  It is pretty dry at this point and I am just itching to get this shot so I can apply some sort of moisture onto my face.  As you can see, there is a bit of redness around the center of my cheeks and also some redness and irritations on the corner of my life and chin.

Axis Y mugwort pore clarifying wash off pack reviewApplying the mugwort pore clarifying wash off the pack on my nose.  You can of course apply it with just your fingers, but I chose to apply it as a big blog and spread it around.

Axis-Y mugwort wash of mask reviewAnd TV magic happened!  The gel mask is already on. Wait 15-20 minutes and wash off time.

Axis-Y mugwort mask review20 minutes have passed and you can see both masks have dried down significantly. The gel mask has lost about 70% of its moisture, while the pore wash-off pack is dried down in some areas.  I personally have to use a small wash cloth for ease of washing off, or else I will take forever to wash off.

Best calming and cooling wash off mugwort mask review Axis-y maskAnd tada!  You can definitely see some of the redness is reduced, especially the chin area.

Axis-Y mugwort reviewDare I say my nose looks a little more glowy and somewhat exfoliated looking?  I don’t know if that is a stretch or not, so you decide with your eyes.
