It’s been a while since the last time I’ve reviewed Clio lippies eh?ย Darn, I don’t even remember what was the last lip product I’ve reviewed from them.ย Maybe it was the rouge heel lipsticks dated back in 2017?!?! Oh my goodness that truly is a long time ago.ย I might try and do new Clio reviews since their products are usually amazing and this time I’ll be reviewing their latest Clio melting sheer lips, which I’m hoping would be similar to those popular Japanese Opera lip tints I got.ย If you’ve been a long-time reader, you’d know I’m not the biggest fan of Korean lip tints due to its very highlighter undertone that I don’t think looks flattering on anyone.ย These days, a lot of road shop brands are offering more natural, lightly tinted, and juicy-looking lip tints.ย I am down for this trend.ย Let’s get into the review!

Packaging:
I absolutely love the packaging of these lip tints.ย They come in a fully plastic tube with a coordinating exterior to what the shade actually looks like.ย The plastic does attract a lot of fingerprints and scratches, but I’m fine with that.ย The tube is also skinnier than I imagined, however, the shape of the bullet works well with the application so I’m not going to complain all that much.
Here is what the inside looks like.ย The bullet is housed inside a metal tube and rolls up very easily.ย As you can see, the exterior color really does look like the actual shade itself.
For reference, here is my natural lip color.ย In-person, my lips are quite pigmented and lighter colors like light pinks and light beige never really show up on my lips true to color.
Texture/ Finish + Color/ Pigmentation:
Even though I’d classify this as a tinted lip balm, do not mistaken, this is super pigmented and almost like lipstick when applied.ย When you pucker your lips together though, it does sheer out so don’t think you can use this as a regular lipstick.ย This blends into the lips easily and feathers out very naturally.ย I would apply this with a mirror if you don’t want to look like a clown hehe.ย Me remembering the time when I had an oreo McFlurry at the mall and came home mortified when I went to the washroom and looked in the mirror, only to see a big black oreo ring on the edge of my lips like an octopus.ย Good times…
Texture-wise, all of these are gorgeously buttery and silky smooth.ย They glide on your lips effortlessly, just like a lip balm, and are so pigmented to my surprise!ย I was actually somewhat sad it was so pigmented because I wanted a tinted lip balm that I didn’t have to use a mirror to apply, but I guess it is a good thing it is so pigmented.ย I can’t make my mind up!ย The moisturizing factor also lasts a long time and does not make my lips crusty over time.ย I do find that the tint doesn’t really tint my lips like your typical liquid lip tints, so if you were looking for a strong tint, this is not for you.
03 tangerine dream: True warm tangerine orange with a slight coral undertone
I normally wouldn’t go for orange shades since they always look like I sucked on some orange popsicles, this tangerine shade I actually like because it is more of a tinted lip balm.ย Against my reddish lips, this looks more coral than orange but the orange tint is definitely there.
06 Brick ride: Coolย brick reddish-brown shade
In the bullet, this looks much more like that 90’s brown shade that is trending but on the lips, it is much more wearable.ย The shade does still have that slight brown tint but it has more of a natural red to it.ย This is your “my lips but better” color when you don’t know what lip shade to choose.
07 Pumpkin pie: Warm orangey brown shade
07 Pumpkin pie screams fall time, Starbucks pumpkin spiced latte.ย If Starbuck’s PSL was a lip product, this was it.ย This has an interesting orange tint to it that is on the lighter side but still offers a brown tone that reminisces the 90’s baby look as well.ย Against my yellow skin tone, this actually works and doesn’t look awkward :O.
08 Wine lust:ย Warm tone true wine red
Compared to 06 brick rose, 08 wine lust is a true dark red that applies like a strawberry red on the lips. Although this isn’t the most interesting shade, this would be a staple color for those who just like something comfortable and easy to wear for every day.
Lasting power:
The glossiness lasts on average about 2 hours if you don’t do excessive talking or eating but the hydration left from the lip balm lasts throughout the day.ย Pigmentation fades throughout the day but it does leave a light and natural-looking tint.
Fragrance?:
All of the shades have a yummy juicy mango scent that fades after application.ย Smell-o-scale: 7/10 in terms of how strong the scent is.

Overall thoughts:
It was no surprise Clio’s melting sheer lip tints delivered in every department.ย These are gorgeously pigmented, hydrating while still looking very natural on the lips.ย The tint is very realistic, making me have more hope for the future of Korean lip tints.ย Gone are the days where lip tints are looking like you used the same highlighter used in your textbooks!ย Clio has since come out with a matte version of this lippie, so I’ll check that out too for the sake of science!ย Get yourself some of these babies because they are beautiful!!!
