Cosrx low pH BHA overnight mask review

I’m honestly surprised I haven’t written a separate review on this product, but I think it is the combination of writing an Instagram post as well as writing an overview of Cosrx products in the past, which lead me to think I don’t need to write one.  But now I feel like I regret the decision and going back and writing em.  This is my go-to product when my face feels chapped or I need an instant overnight glow, this is the product I go to.  Let’s get into it!

How to use:
 Apply a proper amount of cream evenly on the face. For daytime usage, follow with a broad-spectrum sunscreen rated SPF30 or greater.

Product packaging:
 When this product was released two years ago, I was so scared of the product packaging.  Why? Because I thought it was those annoying tin squeeze tube where you try to squeeze a little bit out and a lot squishes out.  At that point, you’ll think “Hey if I twist the cap back, it will stop the product from coming out!”.  Well, the next time you go and pop open that cap off, AHHHH!  Disaster.  Luckily this is not that easily dentable tin but a regular squeeze tube.

The top is simply a screw-on top, which I don’t mind.

Texture/ Finish + effects/ results:
First off, OH MY GOD I love the texture of this cream.  I wish all my creams/ moisturizers had this thick balmy texture, but then that is why we have favorites haha.  Although it is balmy, it absorbs into the skin relatively quickly but leaves a noticeable glow.  The glow isn’t greasy either, which is the perfect balance.

I’ve used this sparingly because the tube is only 50 mL, so it isn’t something I use on a daily.  If I’m wanting a thick balmy cream, I turn to their Balancium cream (aka. Comfort ceramide cream since it’s latest revamp) which is similar in effects in terms of hydration, but instead of the BHA built into it, it has ceramide to help rebuild your skin barrier.

I do have you warn those of you who have sensitive skin, this BHA overnight mask could be irritating.  I’ve honestly never really had a problem with it irritating my skin, but while writing this review and testing the texture on the back of my hand, my hand did turn slightly red and tingly.  On the face, I’ve never had that problem, so I’m not too sure why that is but I’ve definitely given you a fair warning.

On the back of the product, it also states that if you are going to use this product in the daytime, follow up with a broad-spectrum sunscreen rated SPF 30 or higher.  I think this is due to the fact that BHA helps with exfoliating the surface of your skin, which could potentially leave your skin slightly more vulnerable.  Better safe than sorry! 

Fragrance?:
There is a slight scent to this product but I’m very sure it is due to the Centella and the tea tree.  To me, it reminds me of Coca-cola for some odd reason.  Smell-o-scale= 6.5/10 in terms of how strong the scent is and the scent does fade after application.

Pro:
-nice, thick balmy texture
-super hydrating
-leaves my skin a noticeable glow in the morning

Con:
-could be irritating to sensitive skin
-need a bigger size!!

Repurchase?:
Yes, but I need this bigger!!!!

This is definitely a holy grail product for me!

Overall thoughts:
I frinkin love this product to bits and would be so heartbroken if they ever decide to discontinue it.  It is my ideal texture, it makes my skin look glowy as hell in the morning and it also helps scuff away all that dead skin!!  What more can a dry skin girl ask for?  I have nothing to say other than get this product to test for yourself.  I’ve gotten many of my friends and family hooked onto this like crack, and I’m sure you’d love it too!
