I never bought into the hype of mugwort (aka. artemisia) skincare products, until lately!!  I don’t know why I was always under the impression ingredients like Centella and mugwort were only geared towards acne-prone skin.  Maybe because the majority of the acne-prone skincare products always had those two ingredients, so I just associated it that way.  Nonetheless, I was still determined to find mugwort products that would work with dry skin types as well. 

As you know, I’m from is one of my favourite brands and I’m almost to the point of trying all of their products.  Mugwort is one of I’m from most popular lineups, and I’m here to find out why!  Let’s get into the review.

What does mugwort do?  Mugwort skincare benefits.

Although mugwort is not widely known in the west, it is a popular herb in Korea for its healing, antibacterial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, and skin protective properties.  Not only is it used in skincare, but you can also find it in Korean cuisines and medicine too.  The vitamin E component in mugwort also helps the skin retain moisture and relieve skin redness.

Product packaging:
I am kind of sad the jar is a smaller jar, however, I should have expected that since the rice cream was also the same size.  You’d think moisturizers would come in a bigger jar, but it doesn’t.  They’re lucky I love the formula LOL. I personally really like their glass jars and the design of their branding too.

Inside is also a little lid to keep things sanitary and also keep it from spilling.  I don’t believe this moisturizer came with a spatula though.

Texture/ Finish:
Texture-wise, this might be the best mugwort product I’ve tried by far.  I was scared the light, gel-looking texture wouldn’t be hydrating enough. Boy, was I wrong!  Not only does it have the classic soothing and calming properties, but it is also lightweight, absorbs into the skin effortlessly, and keeps my dry skin happy.  Usually, with mugwort/ artemisia products, it’s always really light and calming, but never hydrating enough.  This is not the case!!  I am so impressed.

The texture kind of changes too once applied to the skin.  At first, it feels like a typical gel, however, the more you massage it into the skin, the more it feels slightly like a balm if that makes sense.  It leaves my skin feeling protected and hydrated. I feel like this is a cream that truly will work for all skin types.

Fragrance?:
There is a very strong, earthy fragrance to this.  If you haven’t tried any mugwort product before, this may turn you off.  The scent does fade after application, with a  smell-o-scale: 7/10 in terms of how strong the scent is.  I personally don’t mind the scent and find it calming to me.

Overall thoughts:
I really think this moisturizer deserves a holy grail status.  It is a moisturizer I look forward to using and something I’m always gravitating towards.  The mugwort really helps soothe and heal my irritated skin while still being really lightweight and hydrating.  I’ve tried almost all the products from the I’m from mugwort line and approve pretty much all the products. LOVE this line and now I can see why this is one of the go-to mugwort Korean skincare products.  I approve and get it if you have been eyeing it.
