Klairs Creamy & Natural Fit Concealer Review + Demo

Klairs products has been one of those brands that I have been itching to try for the longest time.  I’ve seen many people review this but I always put off buying it because I have so much make up.  So when Wishtrend contacted me to ask me if I wanted to review this product for them, of course I said yes!  So here is my review on this product, so let’s go~ ୧☉□☉୨

What I do like about Wishtrend is that they carry really indie and hard to get brands sucha s Klairs, Delight 18, Cosrx, and many more.  They also offer Wishboxes from time to time which are curated with pretty good prices as well.  I myself am eyeing the Wishbox 47 which is a box full of Klairs skincare products for $62.98.  They also offer free shipping with any orders over $69, or there is a special section with selected products for free shipping with no minimum.  So shop your little hearts away~

This concealer comes in a standard, plastic tube with a metal screw on lid.  The applicator is a tradition doe foot applicator.  The measurements for this concealer is 11 cm, the perfect size since you don’t need much.

How to use:
1) Apply an adequate amount to target areas in need of coverage.
2) After waiting fora bout 15 seconds, gently tap the edges of the concealed spot to blend in the edges (*Heavy tapping may remove the concealer so lightly tap the edges).
3) If needed, go over with a BB cream or foundation for extra coverage.

You can either use this concealer before you apply your foundation, by either spot concealing or doing the under the eye triangle highlighting method.  Or you can use this concealer to spot conceal after you apply foundation.  I usually like to do it after foundation since I want to use a little product as possible and when you use it after foundation, you can pin point the parts on your face that wasn’t covered by foundation.
Color/ Pigmentation:
Sadly this concealer only comes in one shade, like a lot of base make up in the K-beauty market.  I’m the skintone shade MAC NC25 and this concealer shade worked perfectly with my skintone.  I can see people with either yellow or pink undertones being able to use this since it is a very natural, right in the middle mix of the two.  I wouldn’t suggest anyone with skintone shades higher then MAC NC/NW 30-35 to use this.

Texture/ Finish:
The finish of this product is leaning more towards the satin/ matte finish, definitely not a dewy finish.  I usually prefer dewy finished products since I have dry skin, but I am opened to trying other finishes for review purposes.  I have tried this on my face and under my eyes (even though it wasn’t advertise to do so) and both worked quite well.  Even though it is more on the satin finish, I didn’t find this product to cling onto my dry patches.  Under the eyes, it worked quite well but it doesn’t beat my favourite at the moment, Bobbi Brown Intensive skin serum corrector which is a lot more hydrating and doesn’t accentuate my fine lines under my eyes.  Great for use on the face, decent under the eyes. I would however, set this concealer under the eye if you do choose to use it there since it gradually settled into my fine lines throughout the day.

Coverage:
This concealer gives a light to medium coverage, with a buildable formula.  I’m really impressed that this concealer’s color was strong enough to cover up my dark purple undereyes since I usually have to use two to three products to fully cover them.  With two layers under the eyes, this concealer easily coverage the redness and purple tones under the eyes.  On the face, this also covered redness nicely with a buildable medium coverage.  On the nose, it covered the pores well and smoothed them out as well.

Lasting power:
I didn’t have any problems with this formula fainting on it.  I wore this in the morning (my morning starts 1 pm HAHA) all the way till night time (12 pm) and it wore fine.  It started to ever so slightly fade around my nose area but my face seemed to have stayed put.  I’d estimate about 6-8 hours of full wear time.

Fragrance?:
One thing that I can do without with this concealer is the strong fragrance.  I do not really care for the strong floral, herbal fragrance that is actually quite strong (Smell-o-scale= 8/10).  The fragrance faints after application but this is one of the department where they can either do without or at least make the fragrance not as strong.

My skin type profile:
-lives in an area with Oceanic climate (West coasts; cool & chilly winters, warm summer)
-very dry during fall and winter; dry during spring, normal in summer

Skin concerns:
-hydration for my dry skin
-flakey dead dry skin
-dark under eye circles from lack of sleep
-slight redness around cheek, nose and chin
-slight sun damage from forgetting to wear sunscreen (left side of face)I’m always on the look out for a good concealer, especially for under the eyes.  I don’t really need extra concealers for my face since I don’t have troubled skin, just dried skin. However, lately my skin have been acting up and I’ve been getting spots here and there which never really happens.

Dab some of the concealer on your target areas and blend away.  I tried using my air puff that was slightly moistened with water and I use just my fingers.  Both worked but I found my fingers worked just fine since the formula of the concealer was decently moisturizing enough to not look cakey.

Blended away, the concealer has melted into my skin nicely.  With one layer, my redness was slightly blurred and reduced, my undereye has a significant difference.

Here is a close up for just one layer of the concealer.  One layer on the face works well but if you want more coverage, you can proceed to using either a BB cream, foundation or more concealer.

Here is what it looks like under the eyes with just one layer.  I’m super impressed but let’s kick it up a notch by using another layer.

Two layers will definitely do it!  The redness and purple undertones are easily covered with just two layers while brightened it at the same time.  I would maybe either use some eye cream beforehand or mix some facial oil with the concealer to get it a little more moisturizing, but other then that, this is great!

Hopefully you can see this, but you can see my wrinkles are quite bad, especially for my age haha. I’ve tried a lot of eye creams but nothing is helping sadly.  From the concealer’s nature, the wrinkles are slightly accentuated.

Overall thoughts:
I think this is one of the better concealers I have tried from the K-beauty world. The coverage is good with a buildable formula, but sadly this only comes with one shade.  I wish that this product would have less of a fragrance, which I can see those who are sensitive with fragrances night not like this because it is so strong.  Overall this is a good concealer and I recommend this to those who are looking for a new concealer.  This would worth for both people with oily or dry skin type people but I would recommend those who are dry skin type to moisturize well.
