Klavuu white pearlisation actress backstage cream Review + demo

Klavuu white pearlisation actress backstage cream reviewKlavuu has been a hot brand lately, a brand that has been talked about all over the internet.  I got the chance to try one of their best sellers courtesy of Keautypicks after they heard that I was having trouble with my dry skin.  They suggested I try this and sent it to me which was super sweet of them.  Klavuu’s brand philosophy is “Klavuu lives in the deep, clear ocean waters”.  Their main ingredient is domestic pearl and seaweed extract which they showcase in each of their products. The name Klavuu is a combination of the Swedish words “Klair” (meaning clean), and Vuu (a metaphor for belief/ perspective), combining the two would mean clear and transparent belief.  The intro is getting a little long, so if you want to read more about the brand, click here to Keautypick’s info section for more information.  Let’s go~

Klavuu white pearlisation actress backstage creamProduct packaging:
Packaging for this product is very minimal but sleek. Klavuu has a very sophisticated vibe to its branding, so this product is nothing short of it.  The tube comes in a pearlized white tube with a pump end and a clear cap.  On the front of the tube is the name of the brand as well as the name of the product.

Klavuu white pearlisation actress backstage cream reviewOn the back of the tune is the usual information you’d find about the product that you are using.  Unfortunately for us, the information is all in Hangul.

Klavuu white pearlisation actress backstage cream reviewColor/ Pigmentation:
When I got sent this, I was kind of rolling my eyes because I thought this was yet another white base that will make me look like Casper the ghost.  To my surprise when I pumped it out onto my skin,  this was far from a white base but an apricot-coloured cream with a noticeable iridescent.  If you look very closely, you’ll see there is super fine light pink and white shimmers.  Somehow the cream lightly whitens (not bleach… please..) the skin very subtly and naturally which gives the face a more even and “awake” complexion.

Blended into the skin, the skin looks subtly glowing and sophisticated which I’m actually really enjoying.  Not sure if you can see in the picture, but the right side of the back of my hand is slightly more glowy and whitened than the left side.

Texture/ Finish:
The texture of this cream is lightweight and blends into the skin effortlessly.  I have had experiences with some “whitening” creams where they are so thick and white, it is so hard to get a nice thin even coat to the point of me just giving up on it.  It also absorbs super quickly and leaves my skin a subtle life-like glow.  I’m really enjoying it.  I don’t find it super duper moisturizing but I think because the texture is on the thin side, which is ideal for a makeup base, I don’t expect it to be a full-on moisturizer.

Lasting power:
I honestly never really have a problem with lasting power with most products. This product also is grouped with the “no problems” here category, with a lasting power of 6-8 hours before slight fading around the cheeks and the side of the nose.  The glowy finish slightly diminishes throughout the night, but it is so subtle that I can’t really tell.

There is a subtle floral scent to it but the fragrance diminishes after application.  Smell-o-scale: 6/10 in terms of the strength of the scent.

Okay let’s try this on together.  Here is my bare face with no make up on, just lip balm.  My usual concerns are my dry skin, dry patches, redness around the cheeks and chin.  I prefer a light to medium coverage for my base make up but I do like a high coverage on a special occasion.

Klavuu primer reviewApplying it to the right side of my face.  I usually like to dab it all over my face first before I blend it in so I can get a more even application.

Korean primer reviewDo.. you see a difference?

Klavuu pearl primer reviewHow about now?  Look closer!

What about now? LOL.  You can definitely see a slight difference in this picture.  If you guys are familiar with the Hourglass ambient lighting powders, the effect is similar to that in the sense that it is super life-like.  The camera isn’t doing it justice, to be honest.

-gorgeous glowy base
-hydrating enough as a makeup base
-good amount of product (30 mL)

-maybe too subtle for some (but I personally love it)

I would consider it if i do ever run out.

Overall thoughts:
First impression wise with this brand, I’m really impressed and I can see the excitement over the brand.  This is the first product I get to try from the brand and so far, I’m wanting to try more.  Although the price is in the mid-range, I think this product was executed and thought out very well.  The product gives a subtle and sophisticated glow, just like what you would imagine an actress would be using (cheesy but kind of true).  They state that this product can be used with all skin types which I also find true.  I’m not too sure if people with oily skin would find this too hydrating, but in my opinion, I think it should be fine.  Then again, I’m not an oily skin person so do take that with a grain of salt.  Overall I really love this product and I’d highly recommend it if you are looking for a gorgeous all-in-one type of makeup base.
