I’ve heard so many great things about Marc Jacob’s foundation but I’ve never got to try it.ย Instead, I now have their dew drop which seems to have quite a following behind it to the point that they even have a limited edition shade as well!ย I’m surprised they only have one shade in their permanent range but nonetheless, I was still excited to try more highlighters since I’m currently having the glow bug.ย Let’s get into it~

How to use:
Using your finger or a brush, apply one to two pumps either under or on top of your foundation or you can mix it into your foundation for a subtle glow as well.
Packaging:
Marc Jacobs packaging is so gorgeous and definitely reflects the brand itself.ย The dew drops have the same packaging as their foundation with the frosted glass bottle, rounded lid which you just pop off and a nice pump inside.ย I wish the pump’s spring wasn’t so tight because it’s kind of hard to get only half a pump, especially with this potent highlighter.
Color/ Pigmentation:
On the website, “dew you” isย describedย as a golden peach shade but I would describe this as a neutral tone sandy golden shade with super fine golden shimmers.ย A little bit goes a long long way, so be careful or else you’ll look like your controlling air traffic with the glow on your face.
Texture/ Finish:
Usually, I would go for highlighters that have more of a natural sheen and less in the shimmer department.ย The dew drops have a very conflicting finish with its super fine shimmer finish but the shimmers are quite noticeable as well.ย I’ve tried mixing this into a foundation but it was barely noticeable. The texture is like a thick gel and it isn’t super bendable since it dries down and clings onto your face quite fast. I’ve tried to thin it down with watery primers but the effect wasn’t the same either.ย
I’ve also tried the dew drops underneath foundation but I didn’t like the fact that it would sit on the face and just wouldn’t let me blend.ย So nowadays, I’ve only been using it on top of foundation and applied with a stippling brush to get an even application.
When used sparingly, it looks quite nice and kind of reminds me of Mac’s soft and gentle but a cooler version with more gold undertones.
Lasting power:
Because the formula is oddly dry once blended into the skin, it lasts on my dry skin on average about 6 hours before it somewhat fades but I still see it after a whole 10 hour day.
Fragrance?:
Just like the name states, this product smells just like coconut oil and I kinda dig it.ย Wow should I say jive turkey too LOL, I dig I dig.ย Smell-o-scale: 6/10 in terms of how strong the scent is but the scent fades after application.
Pro:
-super pigmented
-long lasting
-gorgeous finish
Con:
-must be applied with a stipple brush if you don’t want a chunky look
-only one shade in the dew drop line
Repurchase?:
Maybe but most likely not.

Overall thoughts:
I really wished I liked this product a lot more but due to the odd texture and the way it sits on my skin and isn’t super bendable, I’d have to give this an average rating of 3/5.ย The finish is gorgeous and the glow it gives the skin is addicting, but it is too finicky for me to want to grab it on a daily basis.ย Overall this product personally didn’t work out too well but maybe test it out in stores to see if it suits you.
