Moonshot multi protection tinted moisture Review & Demo

Moontshot multi protect tinted moisture reviewBeing an OG VIB fan, I’ve always been a follower of YG.  From SE7EN to Big Bang and now Black pink, YG has always had a special place in my heart.  And when K-pop intersects with K-beauty, hell to the yea!  Moonshot has been around the block for a while but this gal just never came around to trying much.  All the cushions they had were all too drying for me… until now!  Moonshot recently came out with another BB cushion (dubbed Lisa cushion 2.0) along with this tinted moisturizer/ make up base and I finally gave in.  It is TIME!  Let’s get into it shall we?

Product packaging:
Packaging for this tinted moisturizer primer ordeal is quite generic.  I mean, the box that it came with is far more interesting!  The heck!!  I wish the tube had the same sparkly situation and the cute little animation.

Moonshot make up reviewAt least the new cushion is gorgeous so I’ll forgive this lackluster packaging.

Moonshot multi protection tinted moisture reviewI do like that it comes with a pump and it is easy to control the amount you want.  Not much to the packaging, just simple and straight forward.

moonshot blackpink reviewColour/ pigmentation:
Now I’ve never been a fan of “tone up” creams since it always is too pasty, too white or just look so fake brightening that I just avoid it completely.  I was close to not getting this primer but I thought “what the heck, I’m already getting the cushion anyways so I might as well”. To my surprise, this cream has more of a light lavender tone with hints of pink and doesn’t leave my skin looking pasty!!  Oh my gosh~~

moonshot primer reviewThere is definitely a brightening effect on my skin (right side) but it isn’t so crazy that I’m reverting back to Casper status. I likey!!

Texture/ Finish:
On top of looking pasty, tone-up creams that I have tried were not moisturizing enough and almost had this powdery texture.  This moonshot one, although at first felt a little thick, melts into the skin and actually moisturizes my skin!!  Wahhhh???  My skin doesn’t feel heavy or greasy, just lightly moisturized enough for makeup to not slip and slide.  It is just perfect for makeup primer or even just using it by itself for your no makeup days.

Moontshot multi protection tinted moisture reviewLet’s try this on for you!

Here is my tired-looking skin.  Absolutely nothing on.  This girl is in dire need of some lip balm…

Moonshot review makeupI like to dab little dots all over my face to get an even application.  And then, just blend with either your finger, brush or sponge! Can you see a difference?  The difference looks subtle in the picture since the lights wash out my skin.  In-person, the difference is a lot more apparent and noticeable but still looks very natural.

Moonshot primer review Full face on!  I’m really feeling the spring vibes lately.  And if you’re wondering what I’m wearing on my eyes, it is Althea’s new eyeshadow palette that I will be reviewing soon so stay tuned!

Fragrance?:
This tinted moisturizer/primer kind of smells like the sunscreen I used to wear as a kid.  I think it was the Coppertone sunscreen you could get at the drugstore.  Luckily the scent isn’t strong, ranking at 4/10 in terms of how strong it is and it does fade away after application.  It isn’t a gross smell, it just reminded me of my childhood sunscreens.

Pro:
-great color, middle ground of lavender + pink
-blends into the skin effortlessly
-moisturizes the skin just enough for makeup application

Con:
Nothing to complain about really.

Repurchase?:
Maybe!

Stars given out of 5:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Overall thoughts:
Out of all the primer/ tinted moisturizer/tone-up products I have tried to date, this has to be the best one I have tried so far.  It doesn’t leave my skin looking pasty, the lavender undertone really works with my yellow skin type and the hint of moisture works well with makeup application.  I can see what direction they wanted to take this primer in terms of the claims they advertise.  The formulation is top notch and I give you two thumbs up and a green light to purchase this if you are looking for an all-in-one product to prep your skin!
