I’m going to start this off by saying this will be more of a first impression than a regular review since I didn’t have enough time to test it out (due date to submit our reviews) but I do have a pretty strong feeling about these two products from Neogen.ย I have tried a few things from Neogen in the past and most of the products I did like, especially their exfoliating pads.ย I have seen these real ferment products on a lot of other skincare lover’s Instagram page and was excited to receive it through StyleKorean’s try me program.ย I got a couple of other products in the box but I thought I’d break it all down since my detailed brain won’t allow me to do just one blog post. Let’s get into it and see if these products are worth getting!

How to use:
After cleansing and toning your skin, take 4-5 drops in your palms and pat this all over your face and neck.
Product packaging:
At first, I was convinced the bottle was hard plastic for some odd reason.ย It wasn’t until a reader told me it was for sure glass since she dropped it one time and it shattered into a million pieces.ย It is DEFINITELY glass LOL guys and it is quite heavy, so maybe put it into a smaller bottle if you need to travel with it.
The packaging is quite straight forward.ย It has a twist-off cap and a dispenser stopper to stop you (aka. me) from spilling everything on the ground.ย I personally have no issues with packaging like this and it works just fine.
Texture/ Finish + effects:
This is quite a watery essence and it absorbs into my dry skin super quickly.ย I have tried layering it to see if it will work better or give me better results, but to be honest, it’s quite disappointing.ย It did absolutely nothing for my skin even though the fermented ingredients included were supposed to moisturize, brighten, and plump my skin up.ย It might just be because I haven’t tested it out long enough but I can usually tell within the first week if it does anything for me.ย Even paired with the micro serum, this did nothing!!!ย It absorbs down to, again, nothing and it isn’t greasy in anyway.ย Maybe because it has no finish to it, that might be one of the reasons why my dry skin is sad.ย Or it just isn’t moisturizing enough for me to begin with.

Overall thoughts:
This product did absolutely nothing for my skin type and it might just be because of my skin type and where I live.ย I have heard from a lot of you guys that it works wonders and I have even seen couple of Youtubers loving this product as well.ย This is a straightforward fermented essence that absorbs easily into the skin but leaves no hydration for my dry ass skin.ย I wouldn’t recommend it for those with dry skin but it could work for those with normal to combo skin.ย However, I think this essence might be best for those with oily skin type since it would give you a hint of hydration without the heavy feeling.

How to use:
After using the essence, take 2-3 pumps and massage it all over the face.ย Continue on with the rest of your routine.
Product packaging:
This has the same glass bottle as the essence with the pretty pink iridescent finish.ย Thank god this has a pump or else I’d go insane if it was one of those glass bottles which you’d have to tap out like a ketchup bottle.ย The pump is easy to control and I can get a half a pump no problemo.
Texture/ Finish + effects:
The texture of this product is quite interesting.ย It says it is an intensive gel-type serum, which holds true but it also is sticky like snail mucin. There is rice ferment (sake), niacinamide, Panthenol, Camellia extract, which are all an amazing cocktail for my skin.ย Just overnight with this serum, my skin definitely feels hydrated, softened and I can definitely see my skin could be brightened and skin tone evening out as well but that’s speculation since this is more of a first impression review.

Overall thoughts:
Out of the two, the micro serum is definitely the better one and I’d much prefer using the micro serum for my dry skin.ย The texture is one of the most unique ones I’ve come across. It is a thick gel type that is somewhat sticky like the stringy snail mucins texture but absorbs into the skin without any greasy, sticky or heavy feeling.ย Overall I do enjoy this serum but for a 30 mL serum over $35 in the Korean cosmetic, market is a little bit pricy.
