Continuing on with reviewing Whalmyung’s latest minimal line, we have their water serum which is another amazingly soothing Korean skincare product.ย The whole line uses medical-grade purple Azulene derived from eucalyptus that soothes sensitized skin.ย I have already reviewed the cream in this line if you want to check that review out. I don’t have much to say for this intro so let’s get started!

Product packaging:
Another product that was surprisingly smaller than I imagined when I first got this product.ย This serum comes in a plastic bottle with a pump and measures 9 cm in height and 4 cm in diameter.ย It is pretty much the size of my small palm which was kind of disappointing when I first got it, I’m not going to lie.
Because of the size and amount of product (20 mL), I have reserved this whole line more of a treatment than daily use product.ย The pump is easy to control and one pump is enough for both my cheeks and some leftover for my forehead since it is more on the lightweight, watery side.
Texture/ Finish:
As the name implies, this is a watery, very lightweight gel that absorbs into the skin effortlessly and leaves no greasy or heavy finish but a long-lasting cooling sensation.ย The sensation is completely different than the minty tingly feeling, but a very calming and soothing feeling.ย I loved this for the summertime as it is the perfect lightweight texture and the cooling/ soothing feeling was perfect.ย It is close to the feeling when you apply skincare that has been in the fridge.
The sensation lasts 5 minutes for me and the redness around my cheeks definitely subsided when I did use this product in my routine.ย There is Jojoba seed oil in the formulation, which also helps with hydrating my dry skin but it still doesn’t have any sort of heaviness.

Overall thoughts:
I usually don’t like lightweight, gel-type products but I really like this product.ย The calming and soothing effects from purple Azulene is completely new to me and I am loving it.ย I really wish the bottle wasn’t so small but Whalmyung seems to have quite a few sales when any type of holiday rolls around.ย I’m talking 25-30% off type of sales, so definitely jump on those deals when you come across them!ย That would make this serum $21.70 if it was 30% off, which I would be happy to pay for this amazingly calming and soothing serum.ย This is also another product that would truly work for all skin types too!
