Dior lip glow dupes? (Sampar addict french lip oil review + swatches)

Lip balms and lip oils have always been my go to everyday since bold lips isn’t my thing.  I just haven’t built enough courage to go out the house with a really bold lip, so I just resort to lip balms or tinted balms.  I was introduced the Sampar addict french lip oil when I went to Korea to meet up with the company and they gifted me the original pink one that is super popular and one of the best sellers in Olive Young.  I have actually seen the product around, so I was super excited to actually get it in my hands.  From just the first application, I knew this was a winner winner chicken dinner.  Sooooo let’s get into it BABYYYY!

Who are Sampar addict?
If you guys have been thinking, “Hey Sampar sounds like such a familiar brand.  We have it here in Europe!  or.. I have seen it in Winners and Marshalls from time to time.”  Your actually not wrong.  So Sampar is actually a French brand and the company that I met up with is actually a company based in Korea in which they introduce European brands to the Korean market.  Instead of just selling Sampar’s products, they collborated with them to create a spinoff called “Sampar addict” where they target a more youthful audience with a Korean twist (sun creams, BB cushions, lip oils, etc). A lot of their product is based with natural rose, which my skin actually doesn’t like unless it is super duper natural and not artificial.  My skin is like me + wool, I can detect it even if I just touch it for two seconds.   Every time I use their products, I feel like such a rich French lady hehe.

Okay so this brand is kind of one of those rare beasts you can only find in Korea at the moment. I did see an online shop carrying this product but I won’t link it since I don’t know how legit the store is.

How to use:
Tap the cushion applicator onto the lips to repair and hydrate chapped lips.

Packaging:
Packaging for this lip oil is gorgeous.  It is a little bit on the chunky side but I think it is very tasteful and looks expensive with the rose gold touch.  I also love the classic Sampar look with the cityscape and the little Eiffel tower.

The doe foot applicator it very similar to the YSL ones where it has the hole in the middle and a nice point at the end for easy application.

I also love the fact that it has a slight angle, which makes application a breeze as well.

Color/ Pigmentation:
When I was in Korea, I was actually gifted the original 01 rose hip but because I fell in love with it, I begged and begged for them to send me the rest of the shades to swatch for you guys.  I didn’t realize that all three of them have different functions, but 01 rosehip is definitely the most popular one.  Maybe because it really reminds me of what the Dior lip glow line is. When you apply it on your lips, it almost heats up to your body temperature and becomes this gorgeous natural looking pink glow.

Here are my sad dry lips.  I’m always in the need for some moisture.

01 Rosehip: Super sheer natural neon pink that gives your lips a nice natural glow

And here it is on the lips.  I actually grabbed an old picture of the Dior lip glow (down below) and as you can see, it definitely gives the same effect but Sampar’s is obviously glossier.  Hmm I also realized I changed my angle when I take lip swatches now haha.

02 Blingpop: Golden light yellow honey shade with very fine gold shimmers (almost clear)
-contains Diamond pearl, Olive oil

On the packaging, it says that this shade has  gold pearls and is the only shade of the two that actually has shimmers.  So if you like yourself some shimmers and aren’t a fan of 01 rosehip, this one is for you!

The shimmers are super subtle but you can definitely tell on an angle.  Me personally, I wouldn’t wear this one for day to day since I don’t like rubbing glitters all over my face.  Glitters to be is like cancer, it never goes away even after you wash your face!  AHHHH

03 Cactus: Pretty much clear but it looks like its slightly tinted blue in the bottle
-contains cactus, Mastic oil, mint

Now this version is slightly different then the other two.  Although it isn’t really tinted in any color, this is the only version that plumps the lips and also has a minty tingly feeling.  I pick this one up when I want something refreshing :).

Texture/ Finish:
One thing I like the most about this product is the texture.  It isn’t too gloppy, too thick or too oily.  It has a nice balance where it looks glossy on the lips, but still lightweight and not thick feeling. I personally don’t like anything too too glossy because it kind of just looks like I slobbered all over my lips, so this is perfect.

Lasting power:
When the glossiness wears off, my lips do not end up feeling dry in anyway.  That is when you know you got yourself a good one.  With 01 rosehip, it does slightly stain your lips but it is barely noticeable because it looks like your natural lips.  I’d say after two hours when the glossiness wears off, I still get hours of moisture before I feel the need to reapply 4 hours later.

Fragrance?:
01 rosehip obviously smells like rose, but it isn’t anything too artifical or too strong which I appreciate.  Smell-o-scale: 4/10 in terms of how strong the scent is.
02 blingpop almost has the same rose scent but it isn’t as strong as Rosehip.  Smell-o-scale: 3/10
03 Cactus doens’t smell like rose at all but just smells slightly minty.  Smell-o-scale: 4/10

Pro:
-gorgeous natural finish
-glossy but not drool looking glossy look
-rosehip= best MLBB
-hydrating

Con:
Can be bought only in Korea at the moment :'(. WHY!

Overall thoughts:
I rarely pull out my holy grail stamp, but I think this one is so UGH yes.  I personally really like 01 rosehip and I can definitely see why it is one of their best sellers.  It is pretty much a dupe for the Dior lip glow but a glossy, oil version that is affordable.  The only down side is the fact that you can only get it in Korea at the moment.  When the brand first approached me, they did say they may have plans to expand to the North American market, but I’m not too sure.  There is still hope but I’d love to see you guys get your hands on these because they are BOMBBBBB baby!!  Two thumbs up and definitely stock up if you are heading to Korea anytime soon ;).Product gifted by Sampar addict, not sponsored.
