A while ago, I got to try some of AXIS-Y’s products back when they only had about three to four products.ย Unfortunately for me, and I kind of saw it coming, the products didn’t work out for my dry skin.ย Their products were aimed towards those with oily skin types or those who live in a more humid climate.ย Me and my dry skin living in a cool environment, I need all the moisture I can get and those products back then just didn’t do it for me.ย To my dismay, their newer releases work much much better!ย I even found a new favorite duo moisturizer, something I never thought I would find on this earth.ย What is even more shocking to me is that their newer cleanser called AXIS-Y Sunday morning refreshing cleansing foam easily beats the old gel cleanser from them.ย Let’s dive in and take a look at what makes this cleanser so much more different than their first one!

Aquaxyl (patent technology): “anti-dehydration shield”. How to use:
Squeeze a small amount of cleansing foam into your hands and gently massage into your damp face.ย Rinse thoroughly with water and proceed with the rest of your skincare routine.

AXIS-Y’s Sunday morning refreshing cleansing foam comes in this convenient squeeze tube with a pop-off lid.ย Although I usually prefer those with a pump, I do like squeeze tubes too since they are much easier to travel with and you don’t have to worry about your products spilling everywhere (which did happen to me and my trip up north).
Nothing crazy to say about the packaging.ย It is just your standard squeeze tube :).ย
Texture/ Finish:
Right out of the tube, the cleanser has a creamy texture and massages out into a slightly foamy texture.ย In their promotional picture, it looks much more thick, airy, and creamy and I’m wondering if they used one of those foam plump things.ย I personally don’t have the patience to sit around and pump my cleanser like that, so my cleanser usually just looks like this.
Although it looks sad in the picture, it lathers on my face nicely and doesn’t seem to strip my skin either.ย This cleanser also advertises as pH 5.5 and it is definitely a pH 5.ย I come out of the shower feeling refreshed but not stripped!ย I’m actually not surprised I like this cleanser much more since it has birch sap in it, one of my top favorite ingredients that are not only lightweight but ridiculously hydrating as well.ย There is also Centella Asiatica, chamomile, and calendula to help calm, heal, and regenerate the skin but I’m not sure if those effects really showed since a cleanser is a wash-off product.
Fragrance?:
The scent did need some getting used to since the Centella almost smells salty?ย I’m not sure if you guys know what that means but it smells a little bit earthy and salty at the same time.ย It is definitely not my favourite scent but it washes off and fades right after.ย Smell-o-scale: 6/10 in terms of how strong the scent is.

Overall thoughts:
I think this is a good solid cleanser that any skin type would enjoy.ย It has a solid pH 5, meaning it would most likely not throw off the balance of normal human skin’s pH, which in turn would mean less irritation for you!ย With a lot of ingredients I love already, you really can’t go wrong with this cleanser. It is non-stripping, hydrating and just a good solid pick.ย Check them out if you are in the market for a cleanser!
