Korean make up primer review Blithe make up prep essence reviewProduct packaging:
I don’t know why I expected this product to come in a glass bottle. In reality, it is actually a hard plastic bottle which I’m not too mad about since it is easier to travel around with it and it is more lightweight.

blithe make up prep essence reviewInside is a dropper which I think is plastic too?ย  I don’t know why I never want to touch the dropper.ย  Mostly it is because of sanitary reasons but I don’t understand all the Instagrammers trying to make trending “drippy drip” videos and drip excessive amount of product on their face while touching and dragging the dropper across the face.ย  People, don’t touch your face with the dropper!!

Korean makeup primer reviewTexture/ Finish:
The Blithe make up prep essence isn’t watery but isn’t super thick.ย  It is right in the middle and blended into the skin, effortlessly but leaves a nice light hydrating layer.ย  This is the perfect consistency for a make up base.ย  Anything thicker or more hydrating would interfere with the base makeup but this does not have that problem!ย  For me with my dry skin, this would work but I do like it better when I layer it with the Blithe hydro priming cream.

Some notable ingredients would be Niacinamide, Ceramide Np, Squalene (no wonder it’s hydrating!), Coix seed ferment (aka. barley ferment), Lactobacillus/ Soybean ferment extract (helps with repairing the skin from irritation), and Ginseng Root ferment filtrate.ย  I do see Lavender oil in the list, so if that irritates you, don’t get it.ย  I didn’t have any problems with the lavender and I didn’t really smell it in the essence.

Blithe make up prep essence review korean primerTime to try this on.ย  There isn’t that much to see here but just to show you what it looks like on my face.

korean makeup primer review Here’s my dry and sad skin.ย  It looks dull, feels somewhat dry (not that bad because I’ve moisturized) but it always looks horrible once foundation or BB cushion is applied onto my face.ย  You can see every dry patch on my nose, and it doesn’t matter if I exfoliated beforehand or not! It is sooo annoying.

Before (left) and after (right)

I really enjoy the glow it gives and the real hydration it offers.ย  It also doesn’t have that gross heavy silicone that most make up primers have.ย  Those never work for me and I never enjoy that gross texture.

blithe makeup prep essence reviewHere is what my face looks like with the full face.ย  This works great!ย  It isn’t amazing but it is a really good product.ย  Compared to the Blithe hydro priming cream though, I definitely prefer the cream over the essence but that is just me and my dry skin.ย  I think those with normal, combo to oily skin would enjoy this a little more than me.

Fragrance?:
There’s a light green scent to it but it is super faint and practically not there.ย  Smell-o-scale: 2/10 in terms of how strong the scent is.

Pro:
-lightly hydrating
-absorbs quickly
-doesn’t interfere with makeup

Con:
No complaintts

Overall thoughts:
I think this a good hydrating primer but it isn’t something that is super memorable.ย  With my dry skin, this has a touch of hydration I’m looking for, but their Blithe hydro priming cream is much better for my skin.ย  Try it out if you are interested but I won’t be giving it a holy grail status.ย  Thank goodness for a decent makeup primer without silicone though!
