Cosrx advanced snail radiance dual essence review

Cosrx has grown exponentially in the last five years and honestly, I feel like a proud mama.  With the help of Youtube, Tik Tok, and even the original community that built their fan clubs around the brand, Cosrx has now leaked into mainstream media and even has famous actors and Somi as their spokesperson! 

I honestly haven’t been able to keep up with all their new releases, so I’ve kind of given up trying out all their new stuff.  I still have the staple originals that I still love and recommend. Cosrx’s most famous product has to be their snail mucin.  A while back, they came out with a new version which is supposed to be a more beefed-up version.  I’ve been meaning to try it out since I didn’t find the original one to be effective on my skin, oddly enough.  Let’s see if the Cosrx advanced snail radiance dual essence will do magic on my skin!  Let’s get into the review.

How to use:
Pump an appropriate amount, mix the two essences, and apply gently on the face.  Gently tap it into the skin for better absorption.

Product packaging:
The first thing that surprised me about this essence is the size of the bottle.  I’m not sure why, but in the pictures, the bottle seemed a lot bigger.  In-person, the bottle is about the same length as a standard soda can, housing 50 mL of product.  There is only one pump that dispenses half and half of the essences.

Note to self or anyone else out there, don’t pull the perforated tab on the side.  I thought it was more packaging I didn’t rip off yet.  Turns out, it is a tab for you to easily remove the plastic packaging for recycling.  Now I’m stuck with the label always wanting to come off.  I mean, I could tape it back on, but who wants to do that when you’re lazy LOL.

Although it’s a duo pump, I found it easy to control the amount I wanted and it dispenses the perfect half and half amount.

Texture/ Finish:
Compared to the original snail mucin, it is much less sticky and stringy.  I also find it to be much more hydrating than the original version, leaving my skin with a subtle glow.  The original snail secretion just didn’t do much for my very dry skin.  It easily absorbed into the skin, leaving me with nothing, even layering it with their snail cream too.

Long-term-wise, I didn’t see crazy results with this dual essence, unfortunately. Yes, it does give me a nice glow to the skin with a higher hydration level than the original one, however, I have a lot of other products that interest me more.  Watch me eat my words in the future though.  Cosrx is one of those brands where it seems kind of basic and boring in the beginning until you don’t have it and then you miss it.  This has happened to me and their low pH good morning gel cleanser, rice mask, and many other products I thought were so so in the beginning.  Who knows, I might have to come back and revisit this review haha.

Overall thoughts:
I actually like this version much more than the original one.  I found the original Cosrx advanced snail 96 mucin power essence to be much lighter in texture after it absorbs into the skin, leaving me with little to nothing left to absorb after 2 minutes.  Yes, my skin is that dry.  Moving up north makes my skin even drier and cracked.  I need all the hydration I can get!!  I can’t tell if the niacinamide in this Cosrx advanced snail radiance dual essence is doing anything just yet, however, my overall complexion seemed to have been maintained.  I just don’t have polarizing opinions about this product, however, I know Jude from Fifty shades of snail does love this product.  You can read her much more informative review here!  Overall I think this is a decent product for the price I got it at ($18 usd on sale), however, I wouldn’t be crazy impressed if I got it for $30+ usd.
