J.one Hana Cream Review

J.one Hana cream reviewIf you have dry skin like me, you’ll always get excited when you get to try new moisturizers. I got the opportunity to try J.one as a whole brand, along with the other two products (Jelly cushion, jelly pack) but this one is definitely the most different and most interesting out of the three.  Unlike regular moisturizers, this Hana cream comes pre-portioned in little balls!  It kind of reminds me of the roe that comes in sushi HAHA.  Anyways, let’s get into the review!

“After cleansing and toning, take a single capsule, crush and warm the capsule between your fingertips. Apply onto face and pat gently for better absorption. “

J.one Hana creamProduct packaging:
Packaging for this cream is very high end looking with it’s sleek frosted jar and white lid.  The jar is kind of bulky considering how much product it actually holds but it does add to the appeal, I just wouldn’t recommend you travel with this cream since it is heavy and bulky.

J.one Hana cream

J.one Hana creamOnce you unscrew the lid, there is a plastic cover to keep the moisture in and for the balls to not dry up.  This cream also comes with a plastic spatula but I couldn’t find it at the time of taking these pictures haha.

J.one Hana creamInside, you’ll find this moisturizer in odd balls!  What on earth?  Well the name does say “hana”, which ones “one” in Hangul.  And no, these don’t seem to melt together overtime and it does retain it’s spherical appearance.  For me, I was trying to be cheap and using only one portion to cover my whole face.  This could have been possible if it wasn’t for my darn big forehead!  So in the end, I do have to use two of these balls to cover my face and neck.

Texture/ Finish:
For those of you whole have tried L’occitane’s ultra rich face cream, this Hana cream reminds me a lot of this product.  It has the same thick and creamy consistency but J.one’s is definitely less greasy and doesn’t leave your skin with a shine.  I know L’occitane has a lighter version of this shea butter moisturizers, but I haven’t tried it first hand so I can’t tell you if it is similar.

J.one Hana creamWhat I usually do when I use the Hana cream is take two of the balls and place them in the middle of my palms or I use my fingers and I break up the cream a bit.  Then I apply it to my face by massaging it in gently.

J.one Hana cream

J.one Hana creamAfter it has fully absorbed into the skin, it leaves a light greasy finish but you can feel your skin deeply hydrated.  Those of you guys who don’t like your skin feeling or looking dewy/ greasy, I wouldn’t recommend this cream for you since this does have that “greasy” glow, something that I personally enjoy but you might not.  This would be a great moisturizer for dry and combo skin type but definitely not one oily skin types would like.

Moisture level measurements:

pH level:
This moisturizer has a pH level of 5 (neutral) which means it is most lightly not going to irritate your skin :D.  Yey for being gentle!

Lasting power:
I usually don’t wash my face twice in a day, so the only time that I do, which is night time, that is the only time that I moisturize my skin.  So when a moisturizer isn’t enough for 24 hours, it isn’t hydrating enough for my opinion.  Luckily for me, this Hana cream can handle 24 hours of hydration no problem! Yey for J.one!

This cream has a slight powdery, floral fragrance, the same type of smell that the L’occitane shea butter face cream has.  It isn’t strong or suffocating but this can irritate those who are sensitive to smell.  The fragrance does disappear after application.  Smell-o-scale= 6/10 for the strength of the scent.

-good hydration levels
-innovative packaging
-didn’t irritate the skin at all

-on the pricier side of K-beauty

Stars given out of 5:

Overall thoughts:
Sometimes we get bored with our regular skincare routine.  That’s when Korean skincare swoops in and saves the day with its unique concepts, in another word, skintertainment!  J.one’s Hana cream is definitely a skincaretainment product and does make me look forward to going into the washroom and moisturize, moisturize, moisturizing!  The texture and finish of this moisturizer are perfect for my dry skin and do seem to hydrate my skin for a whole day.  Would I repurchase this product in the future though?  Due to the high price tag, I would say it would be a maybe if I need to go back to a product that I know works great and does not irritate my skin.  Overall I really like this product and I would recommend it if you want to try a slightly higher-end K-beauty brand.
