Laneige water bank double layering oil review

Laneige water bank double layering oil reviewThis product review is long overdue but a product that has been well loved by me.  I got this around the time it was released which was couple months back and it still gets attention by this picky monster here.  Now I personally love facial oils but I think I’m falling deeper in love with facial oils that is half and half with a serum.  Somehow, the combination just works nicely and makes my skin happy.  Laneige products are usually not hydrating enough for me living in Canada, but this product is definitely a winner winner, chicken dinner.  Let’s get started with the review because… well you guys already know I like this product hehe.

Full name of product:
Laneige water bank double layering oil

Limited edition/ Permanent?:

Description of product:
Why does skin experience dryness and inner taut feel during the cold winter season even after applying moisturizing cream and oil?  The reason skin feels dry or taut inside even after applying several basic skincare products is that skin’s optimal oil and moisture balance is not achieved.  If you want more abundant moisture, try perfect moisture created by polar extremes—oil and moisture!

Effect of applying “moisture ampoule + oil” all at once!
The crystal droplets made of moisture and oil provide the effect of having applied both moisture ampoule and oil all at once by pushing moisture into skin and by wrapping the surface of skin upon contact.

Moisture-Roof™, the technology for skin’s optimal oil and moisture balance
Moisture Roof™ realizes a moisturizing moisture film through which oil pushes moisture inside skin and wraps the surface of skin.

Hydro Ion Mineral Water – Small, fast water providing abundant moisture to skin
Laneige’s moisture water “Hydro Ion Mineral Water” fills skin with water as it is absorbed fast into skin”

Laneige water bank double layering oil reviewProduct packaging:
Laneige, being the mid range brand, always has the nicest packaging.  Although the glass bottle isn’t ideal for travelling, it is beautiful to look at on my vanity.  The bottle is very straight forward.  Shake up the bottle to get the ampoule and oil to emulsify and lightly “ketchup shake” the product out. What I mean by ketchup shake is shaking the bottle with the opening very quickly and pulling your wrist back.  Wow I sound absolutely crazy LOL.  I hope you know what I mean T_T.

Laneige double layering oilI really like the bottle dripped, it is the first that I have seen where the dropper has a little lip.  It is completely fool proof and won’t cause spillage.

Texture/ Finish:
Ampoules (or serum) in oil type of product isn’t new to me but I think this one from Laneige is the second one that I have tried.  Oils, usually used after application of moisturizer, is used to seal in the moisture and not used to replace moisturizer.  It generally is on the oily side (duhhh) and takes a long time to soak into the skin.  But products like this somehow leaves the skin hydrated, soaks into the skin faster but still has the moisturizing effects of an oil.

Like oil, but also an ampoule…  Its an odd combination but like a vinaigrette for salads, it works >_<.

This product doesn’t really have a fragrance but there is a slight soapy scent. Smell-o-scale: 1/10 in terms of how strong the scent is.

-super hydrating
-soaks into the skin quickly
-benefits of an ampoule + oil
-little goes a long way

Nothing really!

Overall thoughts:
Sorry that the review is quite short but there really isn’t that much to say other then that it works great and hydrates my super dry skin.  It works lovely during the winter time since my skin is usually quite chapped.  I can still see myself using this in the spring time since it isn’t heavy on the skin.  I can see this product working for normal, dry and combo skin types.  Actually, I think combo skin type loving this since it has the balance of hydration but but being heavy.  Okay, I’m just repeating myself at this point.  Anyways, overall this product is pretty good and I definitely give it a two thumbs up.

This oil looks really nice, I was scared that it might contain pure coconut oil but after your review I feel like I might actually try it 🙂
