You know I love my Physician’s formula liquid eyeliner pen, so when I saw that Memebox had their own version of a liquid eyeliner pen, I was all eyes! ย Physician’s formula is my holy grail so I would love to see if this one will be able to compare, possibly even beat it? ย We will have to see so let’s goooo~

Product packaging:
Packaging for this product comes in a sleek, black plastic pen form with the shade color at the bottom of the pen for easier identification when it is stored in your collection. ย Of course there is their cute motto of “I’m eyeliner” printed on the pen.
Every time I see Memebox’s make up items, it is like they are talking to me. ย Hello, I’m eyeliner. ย Yes hello eyeliner. ย Okay, I swear I’m not crazy… I just talk to my make up products, is that so weird?ย (ใป_ใปใพ ย Haha, I’m just kidding.
The lid pops off easily and shuts securely.
I am happy to report that this eyeliner pen comes with a…. BRUSH TIP! ย WHOOO. ย I don’t mind felt tips, but a lot of times the felt tips dry out quickly and then the product becomes unusable. ย I also like brush tips better because you get better control and precision. ย Not sure if it was the size of the bristles of the brush or what, but application with the brush was not as precise as if I were to use my Physician’s formula one. ย Maybe if the bristles were a little smaller and was denser, I’d have full control with the way the brush tip moved.
How to use:
Glide the liquid eyeliner pen over your eyelids carefully and line your eyes. ย This does take practice but the brush tip does do most of the work.Color/ Pigmentation:
Sadly, I am not too happy with the pigmentation of this product. ย With my experience with the Physician’s formula one and Kat Von D’s liquid eyeliner pen, I expected this one to be just as dark as those ones I love. ย The dark brown shade is fine, but the black one needs a lot of work. ย In the picture, it actually took me two layers to get that pigmentation. ย Sigh… ย On the eyes they don’t look half bad, however I expect products that survive the cut to get into my collection to preform and not be a headache.
Texture/ Finish:
The texture of this product was very odd. ย Again, I didn’t have much problems with the dark brown shade, but the black one’s ink seems like it is allergic to human flesh or something. ย When I first applied it onto the skin, the liquid was not adhering to the skin and took a while to set. ย What I mean by not adhering, the ink was like rain drops on my skin. ย Also if you look closely, both of the liners bleed into each crack and crevice on my skin. Definitely not a desirably look.
Lasting power:
These don’t have the greatest lasting power either. ย If you don’t ever touch your eyes or rub them, these would work fine. ย But of course I’m not a robot with metal eyelids, human eyelids have natural oils, eye itches and I’m emotional so I cry once in a while when I yawn.
They claim this eyeliner is water resistant which is true if you weren’t going to rub it. ย They also claim it is oil resistant which is definitely NOT TRUE, again only if you don’t rub it and the oils were to dry. ย Then again, if there was oil on your eyelid and you do blink couple million times a day, there would be no way the eyeliner wasn’t going to break down.
Let’s try the rub test shall we?
Not too shabby. ย As you can see, the thicker lines stayed put while the thinner liners did fade a little. ย Do keep in mind you wouldn’t rub this hard when it comes to your eyes.
Okay, so the water resistant claims is true as well. ย Again, as long as you don’t rub.
One swipe on the skin with the water and poo. ย Okay I do understand they claim you can remove the eyeliner with warm water, but why. ย Like why would I want to remove my make up with water. ย It’s cool and all, but if I were to dry, that means my liner will just give me black streaks on my face just because I’m being a little emotional? ย Dafuq? ย Cool concept, however you should ever just use water to remove your make up before you sleep because that is not good for your skin anyways!!
Fragrance?:
No fragrance.
These are just a few looks you can, but of course make up has no rules!
Let’s demo this eyeliner shall we?
I’m liquid liner in fit dark brown lined as thinly as I could.
I’m liquid liner in fit black, again lined as thin as I could. ย Not sure if you can see, but the liner has a very odd texture when settled in to the skin. ย It slightly balls up and doesn’t create the smoothest or darkest line I would like it to be.
Black on the left and Dark brown on the right.
Fit dark black cat eye. I don’t like to draw my cat eyes super thick on the inside since my eye shape wouldn’t allow it, nor does it look good that way, so this version is suited better for asian eye shapes.
Fit black on left, fit dark brown on right.
Pro:
-brush tip applicator
-black and brown shade available
Con:
-formula needs improvement
-not pigmented enough
-not long lasting; easily removed by rubbing and water
Repurchase?:
No

Overall thoughts:
I think this is a decent product but there are couple of things that need improvement. ย The formula needs to adhere to the skin better and the black shade needs to be a lot more pigmented. ย I don’t have the time or patience to go over the same line couple of times to get the color I want, and that would also put me in the risk of messing up my make up which is never fun since lining the eyes is usually the last step of my eye make up routine. ย The brush applicator is nice but it needs to be denser for full control and easier application. Also I felt that there wasn’t enough ink coming out when I applied it to the skin, so I’d love to see that improved as well. ย Overall I think this product is passable but not something I would repurchase, especially since the price point is the same as my Physician’s formula one.

Yikes. These don’t look very impressive. We sadly do not have Physician’s Formula here. You should give Japanese eyeliners a go. I love them!~
I have only tried a Japanese gel liner but not any liquid eyeliners. I should venture out, just haven’t gotten around to it hehe.
