Neogen has been a brand on my radar for the longest time. ย If you think you haven’t seen this brand, you might actually be wrong. ย Does Neogen Derma Bio-peel pads, cleansers with real green tea leaves ring a bell? ย Well that is Neogen! ย I believe they were even in Sephora at one point but it doesn’t seem like they are anymore. ย I’ve actually been eyeing this specific product long ago when Memebox was still in operations. ย A couple of people have reviewed it and has said great things about it but I just personally never got to try it, until now! ย I am on Neogen’s PR list so I will be receiving some of their products here and there to try and report back for you guys. ย Pads of any sorts have easily became a favourite for someone lazy like me hehe. ย Peeling, essence, serum pads, you name it.. just send them my way :P. ย Okay, let’s get started with the review!

How to use:
Use once a day in the morning or evening.
1. When you are ready to use, pour the essence into the container of triple-layer pads until they are fully submerged. *For increased effectiveness, refrigerate up to nine hours.
2. Use the tweezers to remove the pads from the container. Slip your fingers into the pad pocket and use the threaded side to gently wipe off dead skin and exfoliate.
3. After you finish exfoliating using the threaded side, use the embossed side to wipe over the exfoliated areas again using a wiping motion starting from the inner to outwards for further essence absorption.
4. When done, discard the pads and gently pat down all leftover essence formula until it is fully absorbed. *You can store the remaining soaked pads at room temperature or in the refrigerator if you prefer an additional cooling effect during use.
Product packaging:
Packaging for this essence pad is actually really extra, and I absolutely love it!! ย It comes with a stand that holds the black jar that contains the pads itself. ย On the side of the stand, you actually have your tweezers standing at attention like those soldiers standing outside of Buckingham Palace. ย Along with the jar of pads, there is a separate jar that contains the essence with the gold flakes, because we are super booshie queens like that.
Okay, don’t laugh… but I haven’t got the heart to pour the essence into the jar. ย I’ve just been cheap and dipping the pads into the jar of essence when I need to use it because I don’t want to waste the liquid gold, nor do I want it to dry out.
Texture/ Finish:
The pads themselves are really well-built and of good quality. ย On one side, we have the textured side which seems like it is a tightly woven texture. ย If you guys have been with me for a while, you know I love the Wishformula bubbling peeling pad and the first time I used it, I was actually able to save the sponge with the textured side to it. ย But it seems like nowadays, you can’t keep the sponge because the acid has been breaking down the sponge which makes me sad… ย So I’ve been living off of this pad and it does the exact same thing but it does a two-in-one, moisturize and gets rid of my dead skin as well.
The other side is a soft, slightly textured side which your suppose to use after you used the first side. ย This side is suppose to aid in pushing in the essence into the skin as well as wiping away any leftover dead skin on your face.
The essence itself is a liquidy consistency that contains little gold flakes. ย This product truly has some amazing moisturizing powers because I did underestimate if this product could even save my dry skin. ย On the packaging, it says it works for all skin types. ย If you are an oily skin type, can you comment down below and tell me if this product works for you or not? ย I’m scared it might be too moisturizing but I could be wrong.
As for the essence on the face, it takes no time at all for it to absorb into the skin. ย You can definitely use this product in the morning or night and it doesn’t make cosmetics slip and slide on your face which is an advantage.
Moisture level measurements:
As you can see from my chart, this product truly delivers the hydrating I need. ย The jump from before and after is quite shocking and I don’t think my little device is lying since my skin definitely feels hydrated.

Fragrance?:
This product has a very citrus scent to it, but it doesn’t smell like citrus toilet cleaner or lemon pledge, so don’t worry. Smell-o-scale: 7.5/10 in terms of how strong the scent is.

Overall thoughts:
This product is definitely worth the hype. ย It is easy to use, a two-in-one product where it gets rid of my dead skin while hydrating. ย The essence is surprisingly super moisturizing and everything is very travel friendly… well if you put it into a smaller jar haha. ย Overall there’s nothing much to say about this product other than it is really good, does what it says it will do and I do feel like my skin is dewy, plumper, and more rejuvenated afterward. ย Two thumbs up and I do recommend this product.
