Skinfood gold caviar collagen cream review

With the climate of Skinfood as a brand that might go extinct, this review is a little late but if you can still snatch this up, it’s pretty good pick!  I read that overnight, they fired 181 employees and some Korean staff has reported that the stores have the products on 50% off.  I’m not 100% sure if those are facts but you can take them as “rumors”.  Anyways, let’s get into the review for their gold caviar collagen cream that the mister picked himself!  What a cutie :).

Product packaging:
Packaging for this cream is so simple but gorgeous.  If you get the collagen version, the bottle is a darker brown but I got the regular version.  This is going to sound kinda dumb I think it is kind of cute.  The mister picked this cream out for himself because… it contains “gold”.  Men’s brain definitely works a whole lot different than women’s.  We, women, are researching from top to bottom the ingredients, searching up reviews online and men just pick things because it sounds fancy LOL. But I’m happy just because he actually picked moisturizer for himself!!  He hates things that are “sticky” on his skin so I was more than happy to get him some moisturizer HEHE.  CUTIE!

The jar is packaged very simply with a frosted beige glass jar and a gold lid.  There’s also the extra plastic lid to seal in everything a bit better.  This didn’t come with a cardboard box or anything, it just was sealed with plastic.  There also isn’t a spatula so use some you got saved or maybe a tiny spoon?

Texture/ Finish:
Another gel cream that surprised me with its hydration level.  As I said before, the mister blindly picked this cream with no prior research so it was a surprise to me too when I find the texture to be not my ideal, but his ideal.  It’s lightweight but somehow still hydrates my skin kind of like how birch sap products have the ability to be super lightweight but very effective.  It absorbs into the skin quickly and doesn’t leave a greasy feel.

Fragrance?:
This has the typical K-beauty skincare floral scent.  The only gripe that the mister has about the cream is that it smells “too girly”.  Ughh LOL wow.  Smell-o-scale: 6/10 in terms of how strong it is but the scent disappears after application so we all good in the hood.

Pro:
-silky smooth, applies on nice
-hydration lasts a long time
-nice and light

Con:
-need a bigger jar!

Repurchase?:
Yes

Overall thoughts:
For the first time, the mister and I finally agree on a moisturizer!  I get the satisfaction to not see his face all ashy, peely and dry and he has the comfort of a cream that isn’t sticky.  Mr. is so happy with the cream that he’s actually kind of sad to hear what’s going on with Skinfood and I think he’s secretly rooting for the company.  I actually realized I have way more Skinfood products I like including their juice blushers!!  Those are soooo good and I still need to try the salmon concealer.  Overall this moisturizer is pretty good and for the price, it isn’t shabby at all.  This cream would work for almost all skin types but I’m not sure if it would be too hydrating for oily skin type.  Two thumbs up and highly recommend it.
