Skinfood royal honey propolis enrich essence review I Best propolis ampoule ever!

Propolis or any honey skincare product is my dry skin’s favorite ingredient, so I can never pass it up, especially when a propolis product has won so many awards and is one of the consumers’ top picks in Korea.  I was a bit hesitant to give Skinfood’s propolis line a try again since their propolis foundation had such a strong and gross floral honey scent.  I am happy to announce this essence doesn’t smell like much!!  Yey~~ Let’s see if this essence is truly worth all the awards they have won.  Let’s go~~

Product packaging:
I have to say, the bottle for this essence is stunning.  It comes in a hexagon-shaped glass bottle with a very honey-esque ombre which is gorgeous!!

I approve of this packaging.  STUNNING.

The pump on the other hand is kind of meh.  It is one of those which you twist and the lid pops up and down.  I find it a bit hard to control the amount I want and it always ends up just shooting out of the dropper like a canon.  Sometimes I get scared of it getting squirted into my eyeball.

Texture/ Finish + results:
Looking at the ingredients, the first three ingredients are propolis extract, royal jelly extract, and honey extract, all of which I love for their super hydrating, anti-bacterial, and antiseptic properties.  Not to mention, honey/ propolis always gives my skin that gorgeous and nourishing glow my dry skin needs.  Skinfood’s royal propolis enrich essence is not as thick and goopy as my holy grail Cosrx propolis light ampoule, making it a lot more enjoyable for most people.  Once it has absorbed into the skin though, it almost thickens up and gives you the most gorgeous glow ever!!!  It is also so nourishing that I sometimes forget to put on moisturizer.  Now that in itself is a bold statement.

Let me demo it for you to understand how amazingly dewy and nourishing this baby is.

Here is my bare skin looking a little crusty and dry.  I also find that honey/ propolis skincare products help with the redness in my cheeks as well.  I’m not sure if it is because it is super nourishing which in turn calms the redness down, or is it due to the antiseptic/ antibacterial properties that get rid of whatever is bothering my skin.  Either way, I love.

Drippy drippy all over my face.  It kind of looks inappropriate LOL.

Do you see that glow.  DO YOU??  I am basking in this amazing dewy glass skin look with just a couple of drops of the essence. It does leave a slightly sticky feel but for me, it settles after an hour or two.  Yes, I am a dry monster.

No fragrance detected (but my nose might be slightly clogged right now too).

-super hydrating
-super nourishing
-gives my skin that dewyness I need

I need this in a bigger bottle!!  Drench my body with it.

HECK YEA.  I’m about to order some back ups just in case.

Overall thoughts:
This essence is FIRE I’m telling you.  If you are dry, normal to combination skin, you have to get yourself a bottle of this.  No wonder it has won so many awards, all of which are well deserved.  The ingredients list is simple, to the point, with no added fragrance or any strong smells. I don’t have much to say since I’ve said it all and still am in shock it took me this long to give this essence a try.  Dare I say, this might be replacing my long-time holy grail Cosrx propolis ampoule? It might have and with the 20 mL more then the Cosrx one and costing on average $15-$20 usd, heck yea!  it is actually cheaper then Cosrx’s :O.  Run, don’t walk.  RUN!!
