Cosrx Ultimate nourishing rice overnight spa mask Review

Cosrx ultimate nourishing rice overnight spa mask It seems like Cosrx really can do no wrong.  Throughout the years, I’ve been testing out their products and I must say, I’m in love with the brand.  Anytime my friends or you guys ask what skincare product to buy, I usually direct them to Cosrx because the brand is all about simple ingredients but also being super effective as well.  If you want to check out my first reviews on Cosrx products, click here and also here for my birch sap lotion review as well.  I’ve actually been eyeing this product for a long time but never bit the bullet to get it.  So when Jolse let me pick out a couple items to review, I knew I had to pick this one up!  So let’s get onto the review shall we?  Let’s goo! (´・∀・`)

15,000 won

Amount of product:

Country of Manufacture:
Made in Korea

Versions available:
cosrx-rice-mask-2
There are two versions to their overnight mask built for two different purposes.  Those with dry skin, I’d recommend the rice version since it moisturizes, helps with skin texture, gives you “milky skin” and is rich in nutrition.  I have seen some of you guys tell me that you have oily skin and it broke you out, so I would definitely not suggest you buy the rice one but the honey one instead since this one might be too rich for you guys.

The honey one seems to be a more gel texture that helps with trouble (aka. pimples/ irritation), soothes the skin, anti-wrinkle and helps with a swollen face in the morning.

Cosrx rice mask reviewProduct packaging:
Packaging from Cosrx is always super simple, sleek and to the point just like their branding.  This rice mask is no exception which comes in a white jar and a twist on tin lid.

Cosrx rice mask reviewTwist off the cap and you’ll see there is another lid to keep things sanitary.  I don’t remember if this came with a spatula or not but from my memory, I don’t think so?  Correct me if I’m wrong down in the comments if I’m mistaken.

Cosrx rice mask reviewTexture/ Finish:
I first time I ever experience a Cosrx moisturizer was their honey ceramide which also came in this lightweight, creamy looking but close to a gel texture.  I was skeptical at first since gel-like moisturizers usually don’t work for me like Laneige’s famous sleeping pack for example.  To my surprise, both the honey ceramide and this rice mask works lovely even on my very dry skin.

cosrx-rice-maskFormulated with ingredients such as rice extra, sunflower seed oil, Guineensis (palm) oil, Kernel oil, this cream is a definite keeper in my skincare arsenal.

After application, the cream surprisingly gives me a really nice but subtle glow and my skin instantly feels softer, slightly brighter and more hydrated.

Cosrx rice maskI usually use about a pea size (a big pea) amount for my whole face and neck.  This cream blends into the skin effortlessly and doesn’t leave my skin greasy at all.  For oily skin, it might be slightly greasy but for my dry skin, it drinks it up like a dream.

Cosrx overnight rice mask reviewMoisture level measurements:screen-shot-2016-10-08-at-10-31-56-pm

The moisture levels on my skin is unusually high since I did use Cosrx’s hyaluronic acid essence beforehand so do keep that in mind.  With the overnight mask on, my moisture level does jump up to 4% for my cheeks and 8% on my forehead.  Not bad if I do say so myself.

pH level:
pH level for this cream is pH 5.  It has brought to my attention that I’ve actually been explaining the pH level section wrong in the past posts.  Human skin has a pH level 5 which is slightly acidic while neutral is pH 7.  I’ve been always saying it is neutral but it is acidic since it is pH 5.  I guess what I meant was it is neutral on human skin since it is the same level but I will try and go back and correct it -_-.  I’m tired.. LOL

Fragrance?:
This product does not have fragrance, like the rest of Cosrx’s products.

Pro:
-super hydrating
-leaves my skin soft, moisturized, radiant
-affordable
-not greasy

Con:
Nothing!

Overall thoughts:
I’m really glad I finally got to try this for myself and see if it is worth the hype or not.  To this day, I still haven’t tried anything from Cosrx that I don’t like.  Cosrx is like Bruno Mars to me, it can do no wrong.  Overall I’m very pleased with this cream and I love how it leaves my skin.  I do wish it was in a bigger jar but for $11-$15, I can afford to buy another one.  Those of you who are looking to brighten, soften, moisturize your skin, I highly recommend you check this product from Cosrx.

Have you guys tried this overnight mask for yourself?  What are your thoughts and experiences?  Let me know in the comments down below! ╰(・∇・╰)

this night pack is absolutely one of my favorites. I’m on my second jar now (and I just gave away one in one of my blog’s giveaways) and I’m absolutely in love with it ♥. I was really satisfied when I first tried it out but loved it even more when I noticed how plump and healthy my skin became after using it for a week or so.

I’m glad to hear it works so great for you! I just wish they made a jumbo size haha.

Hiii I’m ayu from indonesia, it’s so great to read your review of this product ???? but this is my first time to use the cosrx (this product) i used this for night mask or sleeping mask. But i want to ask, is this product can be used everyday? Or just like laneige sleeping pack? Just twice a week?? Thank you so much ????????

It doesn’t really matter, it just depends on your skin’s needs. For me since I’m super dry and I live in a more cool and chilly climate with less humidity, I can get away with using it almost everyday pretty much. For you since you said you live in Indonesia, you can use it everyday if you find that it doesn’t make your skin too oily or make you break out.

Does this flatten the tiny bumps on face?

    1. Christina

I don’t really know what you mean, but since this is a moisturizer, I don’t see it helping in flattening bumps. It just moisturizes the skin.

Can I use this after applying Missa Time Revolution Essence followed by Klairs Toner?Does it effect badly because one contains 64% rice extract whereas other one contains 80% fermented Yeast…Btw Nice post 🙂

    1. Christina

I’m not too sure about that. But usually, people would use toner before essence since essence doesn’t need tod be wiped away. Maybe try and see how your skin reacts?
